A Letter from Caroline
Friends, Family, and Supporters of Music,
Caroline here! I am a singer/songwriter from San Diego, California and have been studying in Boston at the Berklee College of Music since I arrived in 2015. When I first came to Berklee, I was extremely shy about sharing my music, but knew that it was just something I had to do. I rounded up a group of extremely talented musicians who helped me create CC’s sound and finished compositions. We hired a fantastic manager, Kate Rancka, recorded our first five singles to be released in 2017, and started playing live shows all over Boston. We managed to accomplish all of this in a matter of months due to the hard work of many people that sacrificed their time to be a part of my artistic vision. I can’t tell you how grateful I am to be working with such gracious and talented individuals.
When our first single, “Blow,” was released last March, we received an overwhelming response. In the first week of its release, the song had accumulated over 10,000 views, plays, and shares. This was a wonderful shock and even more motivation to put out new music. Writing, collaborating with things that I’m not sure we’ll ever be able to stop doing - we certainly don’t want to. Yes, being the bandleader of ten musicians has been exhausting, and yes, I am crazy, but this has been extremely rewarding and the greatest learning experience I’ve ever endured.
Where Your Funds Go
This campaign was established in order to reimburse the musicians who financially contributed to the creation of our first five singles. Creating recorded music involves many bodies: the mixer, masterer, sound engineer, tuner, videographer, etc. In addition to reimbursing for current projects, we would like to invest the exceeding funds in our future endeavors. Creating an Indiegogo campaign was a great avenue to allow us to continue to share music and our artistic vision.
New music to be released in Fall has already been written and is in the arranging stage. We plan on recording our next set of songs outside of Berklee’s studios. This process is more expensive than recording on-campus at Berklee, however we need to do so in order to retain full copyrights of our music. With this in mind, your funds would also be supporting our effort to retain all rights to our sound recordings!
Gifts for Your Generosity
Your contributions to our artistic vision are precious to us and we cannot thank you enough for your generosity. We would like to offer your gifts at all levels of donation. In order to view these gifts and their descriptions, please view the “Perks” bar on the right hand side of the page. Thank you again from everyone here at CC & The Catastrophe!
