Summary:
My name is Nathan Hattaway, I’m an independent film producer/director based out of Atlanta, GA. I’m collaborating with Jackson Gary, another producer based in Atlanta. Jackson and I have worked together on numerous projects, our most recent being a TV series for NBCUniversal.
Chameleon is a proof of concept for a feature film that was conceived back in March of 2021. This is a psychological thriller, chronicling the personal transformation of two polar opposite individuals based on the woman they love.
Early on, we knew this project had to be shot on 16mm film. We’re choosing to shoot in black and white to highlight our characters inward changes, as opposed to their outward ones. Over the years, we’ve developed a relationship with the Kodak Film Lab in Atlanta and will be partnering with them for the entire process.

Nathan Hattaway is an independent film director. He tends to gravitate towards dramatic and expressionistic films. With a background in 35mm photography, Nathan has been interested in bringing celluloid back to the silver screen. His previous film, Heartstrings, told a personal story about love, lust and sacrifice. Heartstrings just recently finished the post production process and will hold its premiere in early 2022.
Jackson Gary - Producer

Jackson Gary is a producer and director based out of Atlanta, GA. Jackson’s films have been screened across the globe, both as a producer and as a director. With a background in cinematography and a love for writing, Jackson strives to blur the lines between traditional and independent cinema. Some past work highlights would include HBO Max, Hulu, Paramount+ and Amazon Studios.
Lukas Bryant - Cinematographer

Lukas Bryant is a cinematographer and colorist based in Atlanta, GA. He owns and operates Safehouse Post, a post production facility working in both digital and film capacities. Recent cinematography credits include A Deer Lost in the Woods, another 16mm short film project. A Deer Lost in the Woods is currently on the global festival circuit.
What we’re asking for:
Because of the nature of a proof of concept, we’re trying to keep the budget low. Calling in favors, crowdsourcing, and finding the right creative partners will be the recipe for success.
Our budget will go to the costs of shooting on film in this digital age, as well as locations, catering, and bringing together the perfect cast and crew of creatives to make this project come to life.
