Check Please

A dark comedy that tests the friendship between two old friends, Tim and Lonnie.  When Tim decides to take matters into his own hands upon discovering something he deemed deceitful, things go sideways. The hole only gets dug deeper as Lonnie is dragged into a world of crime as Tim seeks Lonnie's help to resolve his very issue. Minor spoiler alert: things get bloody. 

Originally written as a student short for a class, I felt Check Please had more potential of becoming something bigger, something beyond a "student film". The reception for the student film version was positive, despite the limited resource approach. My cast and crew were remarkable and have decided to return to recreate this vision and execute without limitation. 

Going back to the "limited resource" aspect, this is where the campaign comes into play. My need for wanting a quality project comes at a price for quality resources, which is why I seek the help of those that would love contributing to such a project. The film's budget at the hand of contributions will mainly go towards the production value of Check Please, along with any other resources, possible set locations, equipment rentals, etc. With your help, Check Please can become the vicious reality it very much deserves to be. 

What do I get in return for donating? Great question! This campaign will have tier list donations, each consisting of a special set of perks. We, as a production, refuse to let our special contributors to walk away empty handed by any means necessary. You all are the ones that are making it happen after all. 

I have attached the student project as "proof of concept" so that our contributors know that this isn't all horseplay. It may raise the question of "Why make this again?", which is completely understandable. My response to it is as is: Remember a test in school you felt you were completely prepared for and end up not doing as good as you thought you could? At that point, you committed to either retaking and putting forth a bigger and better effort to bring that C up to an A. That's what Check Please is to me; an effort that can be improve upon itself by recreating the magic that made the original product so special. 

So once again, I ask for all the help we can get to make Check Please become the project it needs to be.
