Children's Cancer Center Lebanon
Children were born to spend few years of purity and innocence before losing some of it to what our world of today offers in terms of wars, terror and other forms of ugliness.
Some of these children were destined to have a more difficult path. They were destined to be special. It is absolutely wonderful how they smile. How they appreciate little details. How they engage with the environment which many of us do not appreciate while being perfectly healthy. That is what makes them special.
My wish this year on my birthday is to contribute to the treatments of children with cancer. I chose to spend the rest of my life trying to make a difference in a way or another.
Join me this year with this small initiative.
Note:
The Children's Cancer Center of Lebanon (CCCL) is a not-for-profit association for the treatment of children with cancer. CCCL is affiliated to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital (SJCRH) in Memphis, Tennessee; and works in close coordination with the American University of Beirut Medical Center (AUBMC).
Children at the CCCL are admitted regardless of race, sex, ethnicity, religion or nationality; where their treatment requires advanced facilities with cutting-edge technology and expertise in various modalities of treatment: surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, stem cell transplantation and supportive care. Children at CCCL are treated free of charge, with no cost at all on their parents. The treatment usually lasts for 3 years, costing an average of 50,000 USD a year for each patient: where costs can range from 40,000 USD up to 200,000 USD in certain cases.
CCCL has a variety of fundraising programs and projects all for the sole purpose of raising funds to treat our dear patients.
Cure rate for patients at CCCL is an amazing 80%; which means that CCCL's mission is one of hope and a healthy future for our dear children.
