親愛なる空手愛好者とサポーターの皆様へ / Dear Karate Enthusiasts and Supporters,

私は、剛柔流空手道開祖・宮城長順の孫、宮城達(みやぎ とおる) です。
I am Toru Miyagi, the grandson of the founder of Goju-Ryu Karate, Miyagi Chojun, known as the model for the movie The Karate Kid.

映画『ベスト・キッド』やNetflixシリーズ『コブラ会』で描かれる“ミヤギ先生”のモデルの一人ともされる、剛柔流空手道の開祖・宮城長順。

Chojun Miyagi, founder of Goju-Ryu Karate, is widely recognized as the inspiration behind "Mr. Miyagi" in The Karate Kid and Cobra Kai.

沖縄県那覇市壺屋にて、宮城長順が築いた道場跡地、墓、仏壇、位牌などの歴史的遺産を責任をもって管理・保全し、次世代へ継承することを使命としています。
I am responsible for managing and preserving historical heritage such as the dojo site, tomb, altar, and memorial plaques of Miyagi Chojun, located in Tsuboya, Naha City, Okinawa. I consider it my mission to pass this heritage on to future generations.

また、「剛柔流空手道 沖縄宗家」（宮城家直系）として、沖縄空手の価値を守り広める活動を行っています。
As the "Okinawan Grandmaster of Goju-Ryu Karate" (directly descended from the Miyagi family), I am also working to protect and spread the value of Okinawan Karate.

私は、35年間、銀行員として働き、金融のプロフェッショナルとしてのキャリアを積んできました。
I worked as a banker for 35 years and built a career as a financial professional.

しかし、私にとって最も大切な使命は、祖父・宮城長順の精神と剛柔流空手の伝統を未来へ繋ぐことです。
However, my most important mission is to carry on the spirit of my grandfather, Miyagi Chojun, and the tradition of Goju-Ryu Karate for the future.

そのため、2024年4月に早期退職を決意し、新たな挑戦として「長順館」の設立に踏み出しました。
With this in mind, I decided to retire early in April 2024 and embark on a new challenge by establishing "Chojunkan".

空手を通じて世界中の人々とつながり、宮城長順の遺訓「人に打たれず 人打たず 事なきをもととするなり」の精神を未来へ伝えることが私の使命です。
Through Karate, I aim to connect with people worldwide and transmit the spirit of my grandfather's teachings: "Hit not.Be not hit.Avoiding  conflict is the fundamental principle."

このたび、沖縄空手の文化を世界へ広げるため、空手ツーリズム受け皿施設「長順館」の設立を目指し、INDIEGOGO（インディーゴーゴー）にてクラウドファンディングを開始することになりました!
To promote Okinawan Karate culture globally, I have started a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo to establish the "Chojunkan" Karate Tourism Hub.

そして、このクラウドファンディングの開始日である2025年3月20日は、私の60歳の誕生日（還暦）でもあります。
Furthermore, March 20, 2025, the launch date of this crowdfunding campaign, is also my 60th birthday (the milestone of my 60th year).

還暦という人生の節目に、この歴史的なプロジェクトを立ち上げることは、私にとって大きな意味を持っています。
Starting this historic project on this special day is deeply meaningful to me.

「長順館」は、沖縄空手の精神が息づく“聖地”となる空間です。 剛柔流空手道の開祖・宮城長順が暮らし、稽古を行っていた沖縄県那覇市壺屋の地に、空手の歴史と哲学を体感できる空手ツーリズム受皿施設「長順館」を設立します。

We are establishing Chojunkan, a karate cultural hub in Tsuboya, Naha — where Goju-Ryu founder Chojun Miyagi once lived and trained — to let visitors experience the deep history and philosophy of Okinawan Karate.

館内には、宮城長順の銅像や、沖縄文化を象徴する仏壇、実際に稽古で用いられていた力石などを展示予定。世界中の空手家や文化愛好者が訪れ、学び合える“体験型の空手文化施設”を目指します。

Inside the facility, we plan to feature a statue of Chojun Miyagi, a traditional Okinawan altar (Butsudan), and the actual training stones he once used. It will be an interactive cultural space where karate practitioners and cultural enthusiasts from around the world can gather, learn, and connect.

この場所は、単なる施設ではありません。空手を通じて平和や心の在り方を学び、未来へとつなげる精神的ランドマークです。

This is more than just a facility.
It will serve as a spiritual landmark where people can explore peace, values, and the true heart of Karate.

　中央に宮城長順の銅像を設置予定。銅像の両側に稽古に用いられた力石を設置予定。

A statue of Chojun Miyagi is planned to be placed at the center.
On both sides of the statue, traditional “chikara-ishi” (training stones) used in his practice will also be displayed.

　沖縄の精神文化を象徴する仏壇や位牌を設置予定。

A traditional butsudan (Buddhist altar) and ancestral tablets, symbolizing the spiritual culture of Okinawa, are planned to be installed.

キャンペーンとその重要性 / Campaign and its Importance

このキャンペーンは、剛柔流空手道開祖・宮城長順の精神と沖縄空手の価値を未来へ継承するため、新たな拠点「長順館」を設立するプロジェクトです。
This campaign is to establish "Chojunkan," a new hub, to carry on the spirit of Miyagi Chojun, the founder of Goju-Ryu Karate, and the values of Okinawan Karate.

「長順館」は、宮城長順がかつて道場を構えた那覇市壺屋の跡地に設置され、現在私が所有する自宅1階を改装して開設します。
"Chojunkan" will be built on the site of the dojo that Miyagi Chojun once founded, in Tsuboya, Naha City, Okinawa. We will remodel the first floor of my home to open this facility.

この場所は、剛柔流空手道の歴史そのものと言える地～「聖地」～であり、沖縄空手の発祥の精神を今に伝える貴重な空間です。
This site is a "sacred place" that is deeply connected to the history of Goju-Ryu Karate and is a precious space that carries forward the original spirit of Okinawan Karate.

ここでは、単なる空手の稽古場ではなく、宮城長順の哲学と精神を体感できる場として、沖縄空手の本質を学び、伝統文化を深く理解する機会を提供します。
Here, it will not only be a Karate training ground but a place where visitors can experience the philosophy and spirit of Miyagi Chojun. Our goal is to spread the values of "peace, respect, and self-discipline" through Karate's techniques and the Goju-Ryu philosophy.

さらに、2025年10月8日、宮城長順の命日に合わせて「長順館」を正式にオープンする予定です。
Additionally, we plan to officially open "Chojunkan" on October 8, 2025, the anniversary of Miyagi Chojun's passing. This day holds special meaning for Goju-Ryu Karate and will be a historic moment.

「長順館」の設立は、沖縄空手の文化を守りながら、世界中の空手家や武道愛好者が集い、交流し、学び合う場所を創るための重要な一歩です。
The establishment of "Chojunkan" is an important step in creating a place where Karate enthusiasts and martial artists from around the world can gather, interact, and learn, all while preserving Okinawan Karate culture.

このプロジェクトを通じて、宮城長順の精神が未来へと継承され、世界に広がることを願っています。
Through this project, I hope the spirit of Miyagi Chojun will be passed on to future generations and spread worldwide.

This project is scheduled to officially open on October 8, 2025, the anniversary of Miyagi Chojun's passing, carrying great symbolic significance for Goju-Ryu Karate.
