Hi, my name is Christine Mayfield. I was born in a country located in Central America called Panama. My parents moved us to the States soon after I turned 3. By that age, I was learning the English language and fell in love with it. To be fair, I actually love all languages. I love them so much, that I wish to use them in stories and films, and I desire to direct and write after college. I will be entering my third year of college and soon to be closer to my dreams of become a director and a writer. However, putting myself through college is not an easy thing, but neither is it impossible. I have spent most of my high school and college years working multiple jobs so I can continue my education. However, this year I feel that my luck has reached its limits. My mother had run into trouble times that many people are going through. Of course, being a mother of four, she didn’t let that get her down, nor would I. I have been helping my mother with all the money problems that have come knocking on our door and eventually I have exhausted myself and my source of income for school.  I have been working three jobs in order to help out with my family and save a little for college. Unfortunately, my college price has gone up and I am unable to reach it in time. I write to you all for help. Please help me get through college without so much worry about how I will be paying for my room, my books, or my tuition.

My goal is to reach $6,000 for school, as that will cover my books, tuition, and any college costs that may come in the near future. I know it may seems foolish to place your trust in me by contributing some money for me, but in all honestly, I volunteer at a shelter in most of my spare time and learned that I am lucky compare to some of others. And in that luck, I try to give it to them. I always try to go the extra mile for anyone who needs a helping hand, to give them hope. But now I need hope and help from others. I need a chance to go after my dreams, but I cannot do that without the aid of others.

Don’t feel ashamed if you cannot help me with my college fund. I know many people have their own lives to worry about. But if you can get the word out to your friends, or family, then the significance that they know, can help me be one step closer in achieving my goal. Cause someone will help even if it’s a little amount. Like I always believe in: every little penny counts.
