Hello!
Welcome
to the IndieGoGo for our film, Cindy! We
are in the process of raising the production budget for this darkly comedic
short film. What is Cindy about?
Synopsis:
Cindy
centers around two misfit middle school cheerleaders, Cindy and Heather. They
both desperately want to be more experienced with boys and dating, but neither
really have any idea what they're doing. Heather thinks she has everything all
figured out after a “date” with a boy from school which leaves Cindy trying
desperately to catch up. After a romantic encounter with the boy Cindy she
likes, Heather and the rest of the cheer squad convince her that the
consequences of her actions are far more severe than she could have imagined.

What We Need and What You'll Get
The
money we raise for this project will not be going toward one or two
things. We will use the budget toward
the following things:
-
Production
Design: This is an art heavy production and many of these things need money to
accomplish. We need our cheer squad to
have uniforms. We need props and set
pieces. A large portion of the budget
will go to the art department.
-
Camera
and Lighting: Our camera team already has the primary cameras we’ll be using, but
we need lights! Certain shots also
required a specific camera model that we will need to rent for a day.
-
Cast
and Crew: Some of our cast and crew live far away from the filming locations
and we believe they deserve to be compensated for their travels. We also need to feed our cast and crew. We want to be able to have fresh and
nutritious snacks and meals for our cast and crew daily so they will be able to
deliver their best work.
-
Locations: Some of the locations we are shooting
require a fee to use the facilities. We
will need a portion of our budget to go to location fees and permits.
-
Festivals: We plan to submit our film to festivals after its completion. Most of these festivals require fees to submit. Additionally, the cost of packaging the film and safely sending it to these festivals can get pricey, and so a portion of our budget will also go towards festival costs.
*Special Perk Conditions*
Cheer Captain: If you claim the custom crew position, we encourage you to be as
creative as you would like. We only ask that you keep the position
appropriate (keep it PG) and that you do not pick a position that
actually belongs to someone else, for example, "Director" or "Boom
Operator."
Cheer Coach: If you claim the opportunity to provide a prop for the art department to
incorporate into a scene, we ask that you consider some of these
locations to help aid in your decision: a football field, a rebel, high
school girl's bedroom, a middle school cheerleader's bedroom, and a
doctor's office waiting room. The scene and the placement of the prop
will be at the discretion of the art department.
Administrator: If you claim the opportunity to write a line in the film, please consider the subject matter. While this isn't necessarily a kid's movie, we ask that you do not use profanity. There are many places where your line could be placed. A cheer squad convinces one of their own that she has AIDS, a health club member does her best to portray how scary STDs are, a mother is constantly gossiping on the phone, a young boy tries his best to prove his love to his girlfriend. There are also some crowd scenes, like a football practice, where lines that might not neccesarliy have much to do with the story.
