CalyRose Productions are an independent production company with big ambitions. This is our first feature film and we plan to do the best job possible. We want people to be able to join in the journey of this film and it's colourful characters. To be able to see the finished product.

CalyRose Productions was set up by Susan Sutton and Christina Littleson in August 2013. We both produce and direct films for our own projects as well as for other filmmakers, and we also write scripts.

This is an unusual and interesting project. A feature length, psychological thriller.

How much has a past event affected your life, and how well do you know your friends and neighbours?

Help us to get this funded and bring 'Cleek' to a screen near you.

What We Need & What You Get
  • We are looking for £15,000 to fund this film.
  • We have spent quite a long time writing a budget and schedule for the film before putting up this campaign. We have also written up a short business plan.  Something that we have needed when applying for grants and other funding.
  • Included in this campaign's budget is the amount of money needed to submit it to festivals and we will also be looking for some form of distribution. We are seeking advice on that just now.
  • We have applied for some grants and private financing and although we have been given a very small percentage of our total from that it really is very small.
  • As much as we'd like to put the exact details of that on here the person has asked that both them and the amount given are not revealed publicly and we respect that request as I'm sure everyone else will.
  • We are also holding a fundraising night at The Bungalow in Paisley on the 31st January. We have lots of entertainment - bands, burlesque, music, comedian, food and lots more. Tickets are £6 and all money raised will go into the film. Tickets can be bought from our website www.cleekthemovie.com.
  • We have also had great help and support from local businesses in Paisley and they are also trying to help us raise money. They have also given us access to many locations, but of course as they are businesses they can't all offer them free of charge. We have also had a lot of support from Paisley Development Trust, and also lots of help from people at STV too. The promo trailer on this page was made by them. They have read the script and are as excited as we are. We are speaking with them about distribution and many other things too.
  • In the world of independent film, most folk are asked to (and end up working for) free. Our first and most important goal is to change that and make enough to pay people. As this is a feature, there are a lot of cast and crew and a lot of days on set.
  • On top of that we have to pay Insurance, Location fees, Costumes, Catering, Special effects make up, travel expenses, props, set design, advertising and contingencies (you never know when it might not quite go to plan).
  • There are many unique perks for you. These include personal journals from some of the crew to take you through their journey, a unique piece of signed art work and many other wonderful perks.
  • If we don't reach our goal, We will at least aim to pay cast and crew. They should all be paid for their hard work and we should all be working towards a film industry were everyone is paid.
  • In return for this you get a unique perk, anything from a thank you to advertising your business in a unique way, to having a day on set, to actually being in the film. Check them out.
  • Also you will be supporting Indie film, helping people get paid in an industry that they usually don't and you will have a lasting memory or keepsake.
  • The Paisley Daily Express will also be running a series of stories on the film's progress. The first meeting between cast, crew and the newspaper was on Wednesday 3rd December. Interviews were done with some of the cast and crew, and pictures taken at one of the locations. That will be the first article to go to print.
  • We are also speaking to other media outlets who are keen to run articles about us.
  • All of the information on what we are doing and when will be updated regularly on the website, Facebook and twitter accounts.
  • You can see them here:
    cleekthemovie.com
    Jacob Cleek - Twitter
    Jacob Cleek - Facebook
  • A short article can also be found here: Production4Reel
  • We will be releasing a series of cast and crew bios and head shots every few days throughout the campaign. You can find these in the 'Extra's' section of this campaign.
  • We have also filmed short prequels for each main character, just telling a little back story. These will be released every time we reach a certain goal in our campaign.

The Impact

  • You will be helping to improve Indie film making and help to change the fixed attitude that Indie cast and crew work unpaid.
  • You will help us bring a fantastic script to the screen. This is a dark, unusual story, but it is also a far cry from the regular Scottish Miserablism. Everyone that has read the script have loved it.
  • We have now run two campaigns including one which made it's target in the first four days. One of these was with Indiegogo another was with a different crowd funding site.
  • These were both for short films, the first one, a true story about domestic abuse, reached it's target in four days and the other a comedy, didn't make it's full total, but what it did make paid cast and crew. These are now in post production stages and will be submitted to festivals in 2015.
  • We usually pay for everything out of our own pockets or if there's money coming in we usually don't take any of that ourselves. Instead we just want to make sure our cast and crew are looked after.
  • We are an honest, upfront and hard working company that will do our best for the production and people involved, whether through their contributions or work.
  • We are also happy to answer any questions you have that we have the answers to. Just send us a message.

Risks & Challenges

We may come up against various challenges along the way. Not being able to pay cast and crew will be the main one and as much as we don't want to delay the movie being made, that could happen if we don't raise enough money. As with most indie films, we have to work around the schedules of those involved. Getting people together and turning up when they are needed is much easier if they are being paid.

We hope to start rehearsals in January and filming starts in February. We have scheduled 25 days for the main shots and around 5 days for pick ups. These won't be done in a block, they will be fitted around cast and crew's schedules. We have worked out with them though that filming should be finished by May. Then it's on to editing. We aim to have the film completed by the end of 2015.

The film will be made. If it is postponed, people will be given the option of sticking with us or their money being returned.

    Other Ways You Can Help

A quick click is all it takes.

We also understand that money is tight for some people. If you can't afford to make a donation, you can still be of a great help by sharing our campaign on all of your networks, social media, emails, recommending our campaign to people you think may be interested, just helping us to be seen and heard. There's also the indiegogo sharing tools.

You could check out our website, Facebook and twitter accounts too or buy a ticket to our fantastic fundraising event on 31st January 2015 at The Bungalow, Shuttle Street, Paisley. (N.B. This is admission by ticket ONLY).

Know someone that would like one of the perks or a business that would like the business perk? Let them know.

Thank you for your help, however and in whichever way - you have helped.
