Support Coach Lisa Morgan's dream to run the ING New York City Marathon!
If your kid has had the good luck to be on a team led by Coach Morgan - then you know the power of her touch. Coach Morgan truly transforms kids’ lives.
Coach Morgan combines pure positive energy and encouragement, with relentless pushing. And, she has real results to show for it. Columbia High School’s win last year at the Track and Field Nationals was no fluke. It was the result of hard work and dedication.
Whether your kid finishes a race in first place or in last place - Coach Morgan keeps the focus on achieving a “PR” – personal record. When you watch the kids cross the finish line with a big smile and a sense of accomplishment that is priceless – there is no doubt about the positive impact a great coach can make.
Coach Morgan’s inclusive policy of letting anyone and everyone on the track team and cross country team is remarkable. This should be the model for all high school teams. No wonder her teams have 165+ kids. That's what I call a talent pool!
Now it is our turn to support Coach Morgan! It has long been Lisa Morgan’s dream to run the ING New York City Marathon. She has secured a spot for this Sunday and must raise the $392 to cover the guaranteed entry fee.
And, as if working six to seven days a week, riding her bicycle alongside the cross country team and often starting very early in the morning isn’t enough of a challenge. Now she wants to run 26+ miles on the streets of New York to try to raise additional funds to be split evenly between the track team and the cross country teams. This
is her own “PR” (personal record).
I hope you will join me in supporting her. Your support is proof positive that you know the wisdom of a great coach! I have pledged $75. I hope you can make a contribution too. No amount is too small or too large. The first $392 is for her entry fee and the remaining will be evenly split between the Columbia Track and Field and Cross Country teams.
And if you can’t give money – just send her your well wishes… that is also appreciated. Your support, no matter how big or small, is a vote for the great sport of running and for the students who give it their all.
Finally, If you know anybody who has been touched by Coach
Morgan please share this request. She is a star and deserves our generosity.
I thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Katherine DeFoyd
