Valley Public House
Coming September 2020! We’re Ami & Brian Shannon, of Happy Valley's Valley Growlers and we’re opening Valley Public House, a multi-bar, multi-restaurant space with something for everyone. For us, community means giving back, and in that spirit, we’ll be donating to Clackamas High School Arts programs (Drama, Band, Choir, Orchestra, and Fine Arts). Help us raise our goal of $3,500 to Clackamas High School Arts!
Valley Public House will be Happy Valley’s one stop shop for local drinks, food, and entertainment, complete with a whiskey bar, speakeasy, beer bar, and restaurant concepts from Portland favorites Ranch Pizza and Tamale Boy. Each restaurant will feature some of Happy Valley’s first and finest brunch options - bloody marys and mimosas included. Valley Public House will also feature:
- A photo booth
- A destination where Happy Valley residents can gather to enjoy the Portland vibe of their favorite restaurants, beverages, and entertainment without the Portland traffic or crowds, under one roof
- Food from Portland favorites Ranch Pizza and Tamale Boy
- 64 beer taps
- Specialty cocktails
- A fine dining restaurant and specialty whiskey bar called the Whiskey Barrel Lounge, to open in 2021.
- A speakeasy to open in 2021
But this can't happen without our community's support. We have been so lucky to build such a strong connection within our community and hope that Valley Public House can do all that, and more. Valley Growlers is a 21+ space, but Valley Public House will have space for families, as well as spaces designated for those 21+. With your help, we can make this a destination for delicious food, beer, and craft cocktails, with something for everyone.
What We Need & What You Get
With your help, we can build this space into Happy Valley's go-to destination for drinks, food, and entertainment, and support Clackamas High School’s arts programs. We need $30,000 to make this place as perfect as possible--no cutting corners--purchasing the things our construction loan doesn’t cover. Your donations will go to building out the speakeasy, creating a specialty cocktail program in the craft whiskey bar, and making this a great bar and restaurant for everyone.
Perks include:
- An invite to an exclusive, founders-only pick up preview party (including an exclusive tour!)
- Your likeness painted in a mural inside the bar
- Your photo hung prominently in the entrance
- A dog bowl holder engraved with your dog’s name
- T-shirts and mugs, available exclusively to founders
- The ability to be in promotional videos
- Private parties on the mezzanine
- Antique Fire Truck Tap Parties
- A brew day with Valley Public House and Bend's SunRiver Brewing
- Tap handle for a year--you choose the beer that goes on the tap for an entire year!
- And more!
The Impact
Your contribution will help us make this dream a reality. Happy Valley is a wonderful community we’ve called home for 15 years. Our kids have grown up here, we’ve made friends here, and turned friendships into family. Valley Public House will be an extension of that community.
With your help, we will:
- Employ 26 to 30 People (That’s over 20 more than we already do at Valley Growlers)
- Bring brunch to Happy Valley, complete with mimosas and bloody marys!
- Create a community gathering space with live music, outdoor dining on the huge patio, fire pits, a few bars, and two restaurants, with more coming!
- Build spaces for new retail to open
Risks & Challenges
We are on schedule to finish construction on August 31, and plan on opening September 2020. But opening the year of a global pandemic presents a unique set of challenges. While there will be plenty of space for socially distant drinking and eating, if opening plans go backward, we may be unable to open on schedule.
Other Ways You Can Help
We understand that not everyone can contribute financially, but we’d love your help:
- Sharing the campaign with your friends and family--in person and on social media
- Joining us for a beer (or two!) once we open
- Following us on social media @valleypublichouse on Instagram and Facebook
