In this place, there is absolutely no crime. Inside the Community, one can walk peacefully, leave the door or their car open without any worries. The public safety is protected by a single rule. If you commit any crime which breaks the decent coexistence among its residents, your punishment will be as harmful as the crime you have committed. The justice in the Community is based on the old law “An eye for and eye, a tooth for a tooth”.

The law is so deterrent that any resident hasn't committed any crime for a long time. Exactly for 2388 days. But this peaceful life is about to change.

Kornel, a stranger with a mysterious past, comes to this place. Members of the Community offer him a place to live and he can join this oasis of serenity. But shortly after his arrival, Kornel engages himself in a serious conflict with one of the old Community residents - Laura. After six long years without any crime, the justice in the Community has to be enforced using the rough methods. 

The protagonists become part of a vicious circle of violence, maliciousness and revenge. Be prepared - the revenge will be bitter-sweet like the taste of blood.

A short horror zombie movie which was made for the film competition ABCs of Death 2. The theme of the second edition of the competition was the letter M. Although the film did not win, the producers decided to incorporate it in a full-length spin-off movie ABCs of Death 2.5

A short horror movie created for the competition Bloody Cuts – Who´s There Film Challenge. The film was awarded second prize.

We know that to win somebody's trust is hard, especially if you've never met us face to face. In the past, all our movies were self-funded but this time we cannot make it without your help.

In this movie we want to reveal the human behaviour in extreme conditions. What are his moral and physical limits? The central theme is the ethical question whether it is really necessary to protect  a society based on pacific rules by a cruel and severe law.

Our previous professional experience will guarantee that the resulting film would have an original story and first-rate elaboration. We want you to be proud of the movie you supported. So you could say: “I also helped to create this movie. I am a part of it.” Let´s make it happen.

All the pre-production processes are finished, our team of great and talented professionals worked very hard to put it together.

Our team is formed but what is most important, we have an enormous will to shoot. And here's where we need the support from you, from the same kind of film enthusiasts as we are.

During the production of a short movie like this you always try to lower the costs to the maximum, nevertheless it still needs inevitable resources to be created. 

Our story requires a lot of special cool stuff like prosthetic masks, visual effects, camera equipment, lightning, special props, costumes, music, sound mixing, etc. Unfortunately, none of these are cheap things.

We want the movie to have professional shape during every minute you will see. In other words, we want to serve you crusty pizza, not a half-baked one. That's why we've decided on the budget 11 500 USD and we have chosen fixed funding.

We believe that our budget is realistic and with your contribution we are able to create a movie that would meet our expectations and both the filmmakers and the audience would enjoy it. 

Your kind donation will be used only on the production of the movie, necessary fees and the expenses connected to perks. Every cent of it.

The movie is scheduled for 8 filming days and three months of hard post-production. During this phase we will work ceaselessly until the movie is finished. With small breaks for our families, friends, coffee, dinner and some sleep :)

The larger number of people will see the movie, the better. We want this film to have as large audience as possible and the internet is a great tool. Our previous movies are available on the internet for free from the day they were finished and they have more and more viewers. That convinced us to make the same thing with The Community after it is completed - to make it accessible on the internet for free for all the fans.

We are aware that it can be risky for a crowdfunding project, yet at the same time we believe that you would understand our motives.

We are filmmakers from Europe, from Slovakia. However, our movies are watched by the audience around the world. We want to shoot The Community in our mother tongue, in Slovak. We honestly believe that the movie should have its identity and uniqueness.

I'm sure you can imagine how non-native actors sound when they talk in english. Their command of the foreign language can be perfect or not so good, and a few of them speak english worse than hilarious Bela Lugosi after 6 shots of vodka.

Our actors are Slovak and we want you to enjoy their talent in the best way. If they act in their mother tongue, they feel natural. In our movie, the protagonists should suffer, not the audience:)

Of course, the film will have English subtitles, so everyone can enjoy it.

We are the team of professional filmmakers with several years of experience in film, TV and commercials. Let me introduce you some of the key members of our team.

Peter Czikrai – Director, Screenwriter

Peter made three short horror movies: Good night (2013) - screened on various international film festivals (eg. Screamfest LA, Landshuter Kurzfilmfestival, Full Moon Horror Film Festival, etc), M is for Malnutrition (2013) - a zombie horror created for the second year of the international movie competition ABCs of Death 2, and his latest movie, a short horror A... (2013) made for the film competition Who´s There Film Challenge where it won the second prize.

Apart from his film projects, for 9 years Peter dedicated himself to animated film. He also draws storyboards for different commercial campaigns, and works as a freelance copywriter and director of commercials.

Ivan Finta – Cinematographer

Experienced and professional cinematographer who participated on several feature films, such as: fairy tale movie Laska na Vlasku (2014),  drama movie Polcas rozpadu (2007)

Ivan also worked on dozens of TV commercials. Besides film activities, he passes his experience to the younger generation of cinematographers as a lecturer in the Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts in Bratislava.

Martin Jankovič  - Prosthetic makeup artist

Experienced and skilled professional who has worked as a make-up artist for more than 15 years. He specializes on prosthetic masks. He worked on local TV, film and commercial projects as well as foreign film productions such as: Anthropoid (2016), World War Z (2013), Frankenstein (2004), Behind Enemy Lines (2001), etc.

Miroslav Roháček – Editor

Miro edited various TV commercials, documentaries and shorts. He has worked for a TV channel Markiza, where he edited trailers for movies and TV shows.

Jozef Vlk – Music Composer

Experienced theater director and musician. The founder and the director of a professional theater group Debris Company which appeared in shows and theater festivals around the world. He composes music for his own and other theater performances, and also for films. As Double Affair he composes electronic music and he released two studio albums.

Branislav Pavlovič – VFX and Colorist

Skilled and experienced professional in visual effects, matte painting and grading. He works on several TV and commercial campaigns. He was the head of visual effects and grading in Slovak feature comedies Vojtech (2015)  and Velky Respekt (2008).

Rastislav Blažek - Line Producer

Producer, screenwriter and one of the three directors of a Slovak feature zombie horror Socialisticky Zombie Mord (2014)
