I have been playing Heroes of Newerth since closed beta, and have been addicted ever since. Ever since I started playing, I've longed to improve. Recently, there has been no motivation to get better as the game is lacking of a competitive aspect. Well, this is a way for that to change. This tournament has been an idea of mine for a while, and I'm now working to bring it to fruition. The hope is to create a platform for people to form teams, or join up with preexisting ones to have a fun, challenging, and rewarding tournament for Heroes of Newerth, a game long lacking a competitive scene. This tournament will serve as something to look forward to, train for, enjoy, inspire future events to take place, along with allow people with strong love for the game in a competitive format (like myself) to support it directly. The tournament will be hosted on a platform known as Toornament, and will most likely be held in Double Elimination Bracket Group fashion, or plain old Double Elimination.
We need both spectators and players who are willing to donate, to do so. Myself, along with my friends, are going to make generous contributions to the cause of having proper motivation to create a tournament worth watching. Spectators/those who donate will have recognition for supporting the game they love, along with the ability to watch the game at a level that hasn't been seen for far to long. Players will have the chance to provide this entertainment, along with donating to back the cause if they so choose. Casters, such as BreakyCPK and Matthewmatical, have been kind enough to offer to help out and bring the highest level of entertainment possible. The money will go directly to the prizepool, and if FrostBurn decides to get involved, perhaps there will be an in-game reward for those who have been verified as donators. EDIT: Frostburn indeed decided to get involved, and allowed us some perks to give our donators!
This tournament will be moderated by trusted community members. Your money will go directly to allowing this tournament to take place. There will be an active list keeping track of those who donated, along with the size of the prizepool.
If there are any concerns about monetary safety, please know I have no desire to steal, or disrespect your generosity. I only want to see this game that I am addicted to and love playing, played in the format it deserves to be played in--- COMPETITIVE. All of my information is tied to this campaign, where I will be held accountable for the funds (with all of my personal information at stake), along with Matthewmatical who was kind enough to accept responsibility as fund manager. Any questions you have may be directed to us.
