Prototyping Stage

We began working on our prototype in the summer of 2016. At first, the Compectus design team experienced a difficult time figuring out how to integrate all features from our initial design concept. We had to redesign the 2D prototype several times to get a clear picture, and the 3D design was re-engineered to incorporate several additional features into the product. Not only did our concept flourish at the end, but we also managed to integrate entirely new features that we had not thought of during the concept stage like the handy iOS power meter as well as magnetic detachability.

About Us

Compectus is composed of a group of 8 dedicated individuals who are passionate about technology. In 2016, they conceived the Compectus, the world’s first rollable compact keyboard with integrated speaker. They have poured their hearts and souls into every part of the product creation, design, and quality testing processes to ensure that the Compectus not only stand up to the strictest quality standards but that the device is as beautiful as it is functional. They have worked hard to make sure that the Compectus meets the most demanding user preferences. After a series of successful and exhaustive quality assurance tests, Compectus has been patented and is ready to go to production lines. Having started this venture with a healthy vision, we already have a working prototype of or product. Our team, however, is confident that we shall overcome any obstacles and will keep you updated until the campaign is accomplished.

Warranty: 

Compectus is renowned for Total Quality Management (TQM) and adhering to strict safety regulations. We ensure our valued backers that the highest levels of safety and quality assurance are met during every aspect of the manufacturing process. All of our devices come with 1-year manufacturer's warranty. Our team will be ready to provide you with technical assistance for a period of 6 months after your Compectus has been delivered to you.

Design: 

Compectus has been redesigned twice after additional modifications were implemented into the original design to bring our valued customers the most compact experience in a keyboard. At Modern TecHub, we are so confident after learning from failure at the initial stage that we have the perfect product prototype in our hand ready to go for mass production.

Mass Production: 

We are a startup company willing to touch the horizon in the future, and we believe that providing the best customer experience as promised throughout this campaign is the secret to success. We have already conducted three simulations of possible technical issues that could arise and have taken the necessary steps to maintain a seamless production line from the very start. Our team will keep a keen eye on the manufacturing process to ensure a flawless production line and that a perfect product is handed over to our valued customers. We will keep you updated about our manufacturing process to ensure that the Compectus is delivered by the promised date.

Shipping Policy:

Early-bird US backers will not be charged any shipping fees for the delivery of their Compectus. For non-US early-bird backers, a small fee will be applied each time you pledge. We are not liable for any customs duties for shipments to international addresses. Shipments of the Compectus will begin in November onwards for early-bird backers and in December for all other backers. US backers will receive delivery of their Compectus approximately one week after shipping. Non-US backers will receive delivery of their Compectus within two to three weeks after shipping depending on the weather, destination country, etc.

Note About International Shipping:

International shipments may be subject to import taxes, customs duties, and fees levied by the destination country. We do not have control over these charges, and you will be responsible for fulfilling them. When customs clearance procedures are required, it can cause a delay beyond our estimated delivery time.

Q: This looks too good to be true. Is this for real?

We have a fantastic team in place to make Compectus a reality! While not everything shown in the video will necessarily be there at launch, all of the product features described above are part of the core functions that every Compectus device features. Further, because of the rich platform and ecosystem we are building, everything shown in the video beyond the core features will be possible, and more! In collaboration with our manufacturing community, we will continue to improve product development and add new and exciting colors over time.

Q: Can I make voice calls using Compectus? 

      Of course! Every Compectus comes with an inbuilt microphone for making high-quality voice calls.

Q: How do I choose my color?

     Compectus is available in four awesome colors. Simply email us the color of your choice at support@compectuskeyboard.com once you have backed up any Perk, and before shipping has taken place.

Q: Can I connect to the speakers and the keyboard separately?

     Yes, there are two separate power buttons; one for the keyboard and one for the speakers, and you can use them to connect to a preferred device separately. 

Q: How do I carry my Compectus around with me?

     We will provide you with a smart carrying pouch with each purchase that is so compact and light in weight that you will feel as though you were carrying your smartphone in your hand! The keyboard can also be easily detached from the speaker so that you can carry them separately if you wish.

Q: How do I charge the keyboard?

     Compectus comes with a magnetic detachable keyboard. To charge the device, just roll it on your speaker and line it up with the charging dots and your keyboard will begin to charge automatically through the speakers.

Q: Can I use the Compectus speakers outdoors?

     Why not? Compectus has 4x hyper bass quality speakers which outperform any conventional PC speaker. Do not limit yourself to only using Compectus indoors. Type and listen to music at the same time while lying on the grass outdoors. Unlock the barriers of everyday life with Compectus.

Q: Is use of the Compectus limited to a particular OS or device type?

     No. You can quickly connect Compectus to any device that supports Bluetooth. Compectus is compatible with Android, iPhone, Windows or Mac operating systems.

Q: Is the device waterproof?

     No. The Compectus has been designed to be used in a dry environment. Consumers are advised not to get the device wet.

Q: How do I set my Compectus up for the first time?

     To set your Compectus up for the first time, just unwrap it from its packaging and charge it for three (3) hours before using it for the first time. Once your device has fully charged, detach the magnetic connection and locate the power buttons. Turn both power buttons on while the Bluetooth connection is on in your device. Establish the Bluetooth connection in between Compectus and your Bluetooth-enabled device and enjoy! For further details, please refer to the product’s User Manual.

Q: What certifications do you have?

     The Compectus is a patented product and has the FC, CE, and ROHS quality certifications.

Q: Can I separately replace my speaker or keyboard in case one of them breaks, or I lose one of the components?

      We have designed Compectus as a single unit, and you will not be able to replace an individual component separately. We will keep you updated as to any future changes concerning this decision in the Updates section of our Indiegogo campaign.

Q: When do you start shipping and when can I expect my Compectus to reach my doorstep?

     Shipping of the Compectus starts in November for early-bird backers. For the rest of the backers, the Compectus will begin to ship in December. For US backers the Compectus is expected to be delivered one week after shipping. Non-US backers can expect to receive delivery of their Compectus within 2-3 weeks after shipping has taken place, providing no climatic conditions, regulations, or other unforeseen factors affect the delivery time.

Q: What is your warranty policy?

 Q: Where is Compectus shipped?

      Compectus ships worldwide – everywhere. It is available in limited quantity for the first production.

Q: Why is the shipping cost free for the US and some charge for other countries?

     All orders from the US will be bundled in one shipment. Once the shipment has arrived in the US, all orders will then be individually shipped to our US customers. For orders from customers in other countries, including countries in the EU, there are different regulations, and, according to our shipping company, we are unable to bundle all orders into one shipment.

Q: Do I have to pay VAT / GST?

      Yes, the amount of sales tax payable depends on your country or local regulations.

Q: What is your refund policy?

The Compectus team complies with Indiegogo’s Terms of Use. Refunds that are not eligible and in accordance with the refund guidelines as stipulated in Indiegogo’s Terms of Use are processed off platform per our internal guidelines. Please bear in mind that all refunds will be disabled at some point to go into production and fulfill our shipment commitments. We will not be able to refund any order once the orders have shipped.

Q: How do I choose more than one Perk?                              

     To get more than one Perk, please make a new contribution for each Perk you would like to receive, or you can select a different Perk.

Q: How can I check the status of my pre-order?
