What Is This About?
So for those who do not know me, my name is Ernesto Villarreal and i'm an independent musician residing in the Detroit Metro Area. I've been passionate about music all my life and have released a lot of music over the last couple decades under Djilia Phralengo, and have collaborated with a lot of fun, creative people.
Well the time has come to release a new album with even more amazing collaborations, but I want to do it in a new way. I want to publish a book that narrates the background of every song and what it means to me, as well as share with the reader a variety of poems that i've written over the years. In essence this is the release of a brand new CD and a Book that go together, as well as the option for one amazing extra perk!
I'm doing this crowdfunding campaign because I want to include the names of my friends and supporters in this book, not only as a way to say thank you for the support over the years, but to acknowledge you as a patron, super important to the release of this production.
I've also learned that this is a really fun way to share the excitement of the upcoming release with everybody, while at the same time assist with the investment of getting the album released and the book published. And not only that, the check out the perks! I think this is a super cool release package! Go ahead and check it out =)
What do I need?
I'm looking for $550 USD to help me cover the costs of printing the books and making a short run of CD's. It's that simple. This doesn't cover for all of it, but it's a start =)
So here's the 2 perk packages that I'd like to offer in this campaign:
$39 - Signed book with a personal message to you and the new CD.
$79 - Signed book and CD as above, but also including the EVT the Valiant leather emblem hand-tooled by my artist friend Kasar Fellmonger. This is the ultimate package, and this emblem can display comfortably in your book case, or if you get creative you can use it as a coaster. Let my music hold your beer! .. Only 10 available!
Of course if you only want the CD, that's available too, but if you back me up with the book too I'll include your name in the Special Thanks section, and it will mean the world to me =)
I've set this up as a Flexible campaign so the CD and Book will get released regardless if we meet the goal or not. However, I'm really excited to make this happen so let's do this together!
Also, the CD will only be available through this campaign. Even though 3 of the songs have been released as singles, the rest for the total of 10 won't stream or be downloadable until next year. I really want this campaign to work so I'll put off sending the complete album to Spotify and Itunes and them until 2021.
The Impact
My friends, this is important because I have music and words to share. A lot of people over the years have shared with me that my music has helped them through a situation, or that they've gotten a lot of enjoyment out of it. It always makes my day when I hear my efforts make somebody's day happier. However, everything costs money. Even though I've managed to release many albums in the past I typically recouped the investment rapidly with performances and regular gigs. In this stage in my life the best way for me to create music and get it out there is to become more of a recording artist than a performer, so with your help I can keep doing this and releasing new material more effectively!
Status
It's been a journey getting my studio back up and running after having moved a few times and life changing since my last release, but I've been able to put this album together and it's all ready to go. All the songs are mastered and will be sent to manufacturing during the course of this campaign.
The book has been written and is now only waiting on the list of backers to include in the Special Thanks section, and I'll be sending that to the printer as soon as this campaign ends and we get everybody's name in there!
I expect to be able to publish a release date and when all books and CD's will mail out to everybody shortly after the campaign ends.
