Our Story
My name is Robert Sciglimpaglia. I am the Manager of the Connecticut Seahawks 16U fastpitch travel softball team. We finally qualified to go the World Series after the girls worked very, very hard to get there, and we desperately need to raise some funds to get the whole team there. The tournament is in Orlando, Florida and starts July 16 and ends on July 23. Needless to say, it is going to be costly for us to go for an entire week, and some of the girls may not be able to go, so we are doing what we can to raise funds for the trip. Our organization is an IRS certified 501(c)(3) non profit, so your contribution will most likely be fully tax deductible, but will DEFINITELY be very appreciated by our team.
For many of the girls on our team that are in their Junior year in High School, this opportunity will be their last to go to a World Series to play softball before they graduate high school, so it is really important to them.
The money raised will be used for transportation and housing costs. Hotels alone will cost about $8000.00 for the enitre week for the team. This trip will be completely self funded by the team and their families, which is why we are on a fundraising campaign. The hotel deposit of approximately $1,500 is due next week, and will be coming from my own pocket, because I know how much these girls want to go to a Series. The girls are selling magazines, bringing back bottles and cans, and have put out collection cans at various businesses to make sure all of their teammates are able to participate.
If you are not able to contribute monetarily, we request that you spread the word.
We sincerely thank you in advance for your help and support!
