Film Synopsis
Everyone in the world has a clock that counts down, each second, until the moment of their death. When the clock runs out, a group of beings, called Auditors, exist to perform the final, invisible execution that sends an individual on to the next world. They are 99.99% effective… Our story centers on the rare few who outlive their clocks and are caught in a state between life and death, fighting to outrun pursuing Auditors and searching for their second chance…

Where This Movie Came From
Countdown began as a short story sketched out by Jacob Berg almost 8 years ago, exploring the beings (Auditors) that keep death running across the world, and what happens when something in their system goes wrong. Fast-forward to December 2016, and with the help of our filmmaking team and the experienced professionals at Kourtyard Films, Countdown had evolved into a feature-length film concept. Now, we've attracted over 50 actors to the cast, including several industry professionals, and the blessing of an Academy-award winning director! Showing this project to the world has been a dream of Jacob's since the story was written, and now, with your help, we have the chance to bring it to life!

We Can't Do It Without You!
Countdown can only happen with the support of a bunch of people like you who really want to see this film become a reality! Since all of our support comes from our audience and the amazing volunteers who are acting in and helping produce this project, we REALLY need your help! We've been routinely making high-quality films for the least amount of money over the past four years, and Kourtyard's recent feature Through the Valley was made on around a $5,000 dollar budget (check it out here)! So we know we can make your money go a long way while still bringing you an awesome film experience! Your donations will go directly toward props, costumes, and set dressings - making the actors and the movie look as impressive as possible - and to the perks that go right back to you, our supporters! So please, help us turn our vision for what this idea can be into a movie we can bring to you on the big screen! This is your chance to be directly involved with helping bring a movie to life! (Also, you'll get to tell your friends you helped make a movie, so that's cool).

70% of our $3,000 minimum budget goes directly into covering the costs of the production, from costuming to our props to some film equipment upgrades that will help us bring the highest quality we can to your screen. The remaining 30% of the budget goes toward covering various taxes and fees that are inevitably attached to raising money on IndieGoGo, as well as to fulfilling your perks! Based off of prior experience, we know we'll be able to give you a high-quality film with the combination of these funds and our existing film equipment.
That being said, reaching above and beyond our goal would give us the freedom to do even more awesome stuff (that you then, of course, get to watch), and we have several stretch goals we'd love to hit to let us add even more value to this project!
Stretch Goal 1: $5,000 - Reaching this level gives us the freedom to go all-out with the costuming for our main characters, and get some really cool accents to improve their screen presence. Plus, we'll have a cool secret perk or two for all of you if we can get all the way here!
Stretch Goal 2: $7,500 - One of the things that really helps improve a movie is better camera equipment, and as independent filmmakers, we've learned to be, well... inventive, when it comes to our rigs. Jacob's been using a handmade PVC steadicam for his last couple years of production, and we'd love to get him an upgrade that will improve the quality of Countdown and all future films (No, it's not a $2,500 steadicam, but we want more than enough funds to feel completely comfortable about this movie first). We'll come up with something extra cool for all of you (maybe an exclusive peek into our next project..?) if we reach all the way up here (also we'll love you all forever)!
Stretch Goal 3: $15,000 - Since we've been in the business of hoping for miracles for a while, we figured we'd put this on here just in case... With this much generosity, not only would we be able to put more into making Countdown real than we'd ever imagined (serious upgrades in props, sets, weapons, action scenes, and more...), but you'll help set us up to bring you our stories for at least years to come. We're not sure we have any ideas yet to repay you if we get this high, but rest assured, we'll think of something (or many somethings) if we can make it up here (the loving you all forever still applies). Plus, you get to be a part of many more of our projects for the coming years, and we think that would be awesome.

Wait, seriously? You came all the way down here to find other ways to help us out? Wow!
As independent filmmakers, we rely on people like you sharing our projects and stories beyond the people we know personally. So please, share this campaign, or the movie's Facebook, or our Youtube channels, and you'll be helping us get stories like this one and (we hope) many more out there. Or send us questions, encouragement, or anything else! A lot of our ideas come from everyday conversations, and who knows? You might inspire something about our next project.
Or, if you're a local filmmaker in Colorado who wants to provide extras, sets, props, VFX assistance, or anything else, shoot us an email at starwatcher.studios@gmail.com. We love collaborating with other storytellers, and we can always use the help!
If you have any questions for us about the campaign or the project, leave a comment on this page or send an email to countdownmovie18@gmail.com! We'll have someone checking things out and answering a couple times a day!
We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all your help and support. May your clock run for many years to come.
- Jacob Berg and the Starwatcher Studios team
