CRITI.CO is made for individuals, NGOs, entrepreneurs, students, architects, urbanists; it is for creatives, scientists, for the curious, innovative and active citizens, who want to engage in a sustainable change in their own realities. The courses will combine theoretical input, interactive communication tools and - where applicable - hands-on assignments. The information is shared via diverse and engaging formats, such as video lectures, expert interviews, quizzes, discussions or podcasts. One course will cover a specific topic and usually last for 4-6 weeks with a workload of 2-6 hours per week.

Critical Concrete has been committed to alternative approaches to environmentally friendly architectural practices and a fair and inclusive city for 5 years now. The aim of our non-profit-organization is to collectively refurbish socially-relevant spaces through educational programmes, including summer school programmes, big workshops on real projects and small courses in our neighbourhood production centre.

We realized that our work and projects had a major impact on the people involved and initiated the critical rethinking of common processes and models. Without doubt, we will continue our local work, but the pandemic has shown us the potential of online formats as a necessary tool to promote alternative approaches to a large and interested community. To make relevant existing knowledge and practices easily and globally accessible, we decided to activate our network of individuals and small organizations working in the various fields of social and sustainable development and to set up our own online-learning platform - CRITI.CO was born.

Large online-learning platforms usually ask collaborating mentors for high partnership fees and do not offer any specialized support to set up the course. Following this, only institutions with the necessary resources can communicate their perspectives via those platforms. At CRITI.CO, we want to pursue a different approach. We intentionally want to gather aspiring individuals and organizations working in any field of sustainable practice to share their expertise. To not make the lack of time and money the reason this knowledge cannot be shared, we offer a fair revenue share of the courses’ income and actively support the developing, shooting, editing and promoting processes of each course. This way we want to create a resilient network of sustainable knowledge, which unites individual experiences into one large hub and make it easily accessible for everybody.

Exclusive course content, such as video lectures, interviews, podcasts and more, is hosted on our e-learning platform, Criti.co. Every course balances theoretical learning with practical assignments that will be unique to your surroundings. You can learn how to instigate a social project in your neighbourhood or analyse the earth properties on your doorstep. Each learner brings their own knowledge and experiences into an exchange with fellow learners. The platform creates a community of engaged co-learners who can discuss topics through forums and group assignments.

In live sessions you can actively engage with your tutors, benefitting from their expertise in the course and beyond. Each learner will also receive a certificate of achievement to kickstart their next steps in their chosen sustainable field. Importantly, we want Criti.co to be a community of like minded individuals supporting each other through peer reviews and collaboration.
