The Play
“Crooked” by Catherine Trieschmann is a play that centers
around a teenage girl with dystonia, a disease that causes the muscles in her
shoulders to draw up, creating a lump that looks like a hunch on her back. She
is forced to work through this insecurity when she encounters problems with her
single mother and questions about her sexuality towards a new friend. It is a
dramatic comedy that explores the idea of finding out who one truly is,
especially at a young age.
