Who is Cue 1? And why do they want money?
Spokane is a great city. It's not too big and it's not too small. In Spokane, there is no greater sense of community than the small arena that we know as live theater. Live theater is thriving in Spokane with talent that has gone to big and bright careers in the arts. Local high schools are constantly winning regional awards as well as local theaters doing there part on the national level. Cue 1 wants to join that success as a startup theater that will bring Spokane another option for professional theater. Cue 1 will be a professional non-equity house that will perform 9 shows per season with 2 summer season shows aimed at providing internships to local school aged kids at no charge to the students. Our summer season is focused on mentorship of students by local professionals who work in the field here in Spokane. Every student will be paired with a professional actor and some nights the role will be played by the professional and some nights it will be performed by the student. Again, this is at no charge to the student and the professional gets paid at the same time! As for the 9 shows, we will bring both contemporary shows and classics including both musicals and plays. Ticket prices will be $25 for musicals and $20 for plays. We have found a space available for a price we can afford and we are ready to move in. We need your help. Cue 1 Theater will be a corporation as opposed to a non-profit and as such we are not going to hound you for donations. Instead, we will use this medium as a way to sell you goods in order to raise the funds we need to launch on schedule this July. If we do not reach our goal, the funds you have donated will go into the business bank account and will remain there until we have raised the startup amount. Rest assured, we are not going anywhere. We will continue to sell goods until the time comes that we have raised our goal and then we will launch as soon as possible. I want to thank you for viewing our page. Thank you for considering partnering with us by purchasing something in our indiegogo campaign. Most importantly, thank you for supporting the arts every time you go see a show at any theater anywhere.
