is a fantasy comedy short film that reveals the extraordinary world behind everyone’s life.
The story follows the struggles of two cupids
trying to get their two humans to first meet and
then, the biggest challenge of them all, to actually talk to each other.
Our
main characters, Arabella and Saraphel, have
to use every trick they know to get their humans to connect. They only have a brief
window of opportunity while their humans, Paul and Claire, are in the same location at the same time, otherwise
the chance for this relationship will be lost forever.
![]()
Arabella
is a highly experienced and professional cupid, determined to do a good job but
completely fed up with modern day humans and their lack of romance.
![]()
Saraphel
is new to working with human beings as he’s spent most of his career in the
Rabbit Department. Oddly enough, his rabbit techniques don’t seem to translate
well to the humans.

One year ago
we held a campaign to #SaveTheCupids because the lack of love between human
beings was turning cupids into an endangered species. To bring awareness of
their plight we raised funds to make Cupids,
a short film to open everyone’s eyes to the world of the cupids.
We shot Cupids over two nights
in the beautiful Artisan cafe in Ealing (London) with a crew of very talented people

Thanks to
all their effort we’ve now reached the post-production phase of the film.
Wo-Ho! :)

Having saved
the cupids by shooting our film, our mission now is to get Cupids finished and out into the
world for as many people as possible to see.
By achieving
this we will #RaiseTheCupids; letting more people know that they should be
friendly and talk to each other, as this will make the lives of all cupids
easier from now on.
There’s
three things we need to do to finish off the film:
-
Animated Titles: We can give the opening sequence of Cupids a visual style that will instantly grab people’s attention, get them smiling and remember our film forever.
![]()
-
Sound Design: Our sound is lovely and crisp
but we can use it creatively to depict the two worlds onscreen: the invisible
world of the cupids and the everyday world of the humans.
-
Colour Grading: By grading our film we will
make it shine, look vibrant and enhance the two different worlds on screen.

This is also the
last chance to get involved, get
your name attached or just be part of the Cupids
team as we finish off the film and get it out to festivals.
