Dabby can play anything — contents from thousands of free sources like YouTube, VUDU, TubiTV etc, paid sources like Netflix, HBO etc, social media sources like Instagram, Twitch etc and even your cable subscriptions like XFinity, Sling etc.
The best part - you don’t need to know where to play from, no need to download any apps - just ask Dabby to play something and it will find the right source and play them on your TV instantly (no more app switching and downloading).
Dabby can play from 1000s of free online sources, but you can also connect your existing subscription services easily if you want to aggregate those on top of the free sources.

And what if you don’t know what you feel like watching?
We understand that you don't always know what you want to watch.
In this case, you can say for example "Dabby, play a horror movie". The deep search engine will find the relevant sources for the horror movies and the ranking algorithm will use the user's taste profile, viewing habits and history and the user subscriptions to rank the sources accordingly.
Dabby will show recommend content from a variety of apps and online sources on the Dabby Touch screen and you will be able to create watchlists and add content to your favorites.
As long as it's online, Dabby can play it. Simply connect it to WiFi and enjoy all content available online at your fingertips (pun intended).

You can simply flick the content you want to watch and it'll instantly play them on TV.

Dabby is portable & can transition from one room to the other.
It is equipped with proximity sensors to detect that you are moving away from your TV and it will switch content to the Dabby Touch Screen until you approach another TV that has a Dabby dongle plugged in.

For example, you could be watching a movie in your living room and when you are ready to move to your bedroom, you can simply ask Dabby to pause in your living room and ask Dabby to resume playing in your bedroom. Or even better simply take Dabby with you and the content will move from TV to Dabby to TV again using our proximity sensors.
It can even control different content on TVs in different rooms!
With one Dabby and multiple dongles, you can have Dabby play different content on each TV in the house. You can play kids' channels in the living room while you watch a movie in the bedroom just by telling Dabby what to play and in which room.
And then there is more. SECOND SCREEN.
Scroll through game highlights when watching the game or even better watch the highlights video on Dabby screen while the game plays on the big TV screen.

Dabby can also deep search for music, as well as podcasts. Dabby Touch will then display the video content or you can stream it to your TV. This can also be done while doing video chat.
Portable standalone device
Dabby can be used as a standalone device to watch content. Simply, ask Dabby to play the content on the Dabby screen so you can watch anywhere in the house and outside.
1. HD video calls - you can chat on the device or on your TV.
2. Video assistant - you can say, “Dabby, tell me more about San Francisco”, and Dabby will show you places to check out in San Francisco and will play a tourist video on TV. You can browse tourist activities on the touch display and buy tickets.
3. Your new sous-chef - you can ask “Dabby, show me how to make chicken pot pie", and Dabby will play the cooking video on TV while showing the step by step recipes and instructions on the touch display. You can also choose to buy those ingredients through Dabby.
4. Digital photo frame - upload your photos to Dabby and display your favorite memories on Dabby.

He went on to broadened to attain a Master's Degree in Industrial Design while continuing to build his professional portfolio with internships and freelance work for several organizations including NASA and Hallmark. Following his master's work, Rakmun developed Industrial Design, UI/UX, branding and pitch videos for wearable products at Read/Write Labs.

More details on how it works?
When a user issues a command, say, ‘Dabby, play the final moments of NBA finals last game’, the Dabby touch will hand off the transcribed text to the content AI engine (in the cloud) that will break it down to understand what category of entertainment the user is looking for. Once the category is identified, the AI engine will further analyse the intent and the classification by working tightly with the Media Indexer. As a result, the content AI engine will create 20 to 25 parameters on an average for any given query and hands this off to the Deep Search Engine.
The deep search engine will then use those parameters to find the relevant content sources. Once the content sources are identified, the search engine will then hand it off to the ‘media ranking engine’. The ranking algorithm will use the taste profile that was created for each user, viewing habits, and the user subscriptions and sort the sources accordingly to make it more personalized.
Once the sources are ranked, the content AI engine sends them back to Dabby touch. Dabby touch will then inform Dabby dongle to play them directly from their websites. Dabby dongle will use the custom video playback engine to fetch the source and play the videos in full screen seamlessly.
