Dans l'Oeil de la Tempête - 30th Anniversary Limited Edition
Please read important information at the bottom! *
Handful of Snowdrops' sophomore album was released in 1991. The album reception was mixed. Loved by some and hated by others, it was a major departure from their debut, Land of the Damned.
It had qualities, but it also had problems. We didn't have the means to match our ambitions. We were green and clueless and most importantly, we couldn't afford to work with the great engineers and producers our contemporaries from Europe could. "C'est la Mort", our American label at the time, didn't care to master or even normalise the album, which already suffered from weak bass content, before releasing it.
Dans l'Oeil de la Tempête was release without promotion and so went completely unnoticed in the US, Canada and the rest of the world, except in our home province of Quebec were the album received a rather surprising amount of attention although, ironically, it was only available as an import!
For its 30th anniversary I thought it would be a good idea to give it a little love. So here's the idea if you're up for it:
- A double CD jewel box, in a cardboard slipcase, limited to 100 copies.
- The first CD would hold the 8 tracks featured on the original,
remastered (or mastered in this case!)
- The second CD would contain an alternative mix of "Hush", 2 tracks recorded for two different 'C'est la Mort - Doctor Death' compilations, "Now, Then and Forever" and "Second by Second", plus 6 demos recorded prior to the album, "Sometimes I", "In the Eye of the Storm", "Now, Then and Forever", and some of which that didn't make the final cut like, "Sleep Away", "Charlatan" and "Over My Head".
I made it simple. For the goal to be reached, all 100 copies have to be sold. Since the campaign has a fixed goal, it is risk free. So, if that goal isn't met, everyone will be refunded in full. If the goal is met, I will start working on it for good and expect to have it shipped in the first week of octobre, but hopefully sooner. If you have other questions please take a look at the FAQ section and if you don't find an answer there, you can contact me via the "ASK A QUESTION" link near the top of the page. So, has 30 years been long enough?
*Important, please read
YOU CAN ONLY GET ONE COPY EACH, so everyone has a chance to secure one. That will also help to prevent the usual abuser buying multiple copies to resale them at ridiculous prices on music marketplaces. If at one point it looks like the goal won't be met, I'll maybe allow people to buy more. The campaign is on for 30 days, so fingers crossed…
THANK YOU!
