My
story
My
name is John High, or as the children in Kenya call me, Jon Juu . 21
years ago, I decided to move to Kenya after a life changing encounter
with children living on the streets of Nairobi. That encounter gave
rise to a passion that has compelled me to do everything I can to
ensure that they would find a safe home. Since then, with the help
and support of countless volunteers and donors, I have seen the lives
of over 250 children transformed.
My invitation to you
I
invite you to join me in putting a smile on the faces of these
wonderful children through your contribution which will ensure that
they have the best care possible. I am convinced that the same
passion I have for them will become yours as well.
Your
contribution will go beyond just providing a material necessity, it
will ignite a passion in our children to help those who are less
fortunate, to help others believe in themselves, and to help all
those around them to realize that they can change their world for the
better. It is my earnest desire that they will carry this passion
beyond Teule Kenya - to their communities, family, friends, and the

Our
campaign is called "Dare to Smile" because our objective is
to ensure that everyone wins: the children get to smile and so do
you. So here is the best part: we are going out on a limb to promise
that we can make you smile, or dare we say, make you laugh with one
or more of our perks. So get ready to have your day uplifted.

Impact
Too
often we hear about the immense suffering countless people endure
around the world, and it can sometimes feel daunting, but I am
convinced that even the smallest gesture of love can forever
transform the lives of many. One look, one hello, one smile has the
power to make all those around you to hope, and to become lights of
joy in this world.
Our
track record
Over
the years, we have successfully raised money to fund several or our
long standing facilities and programs which include the purchase of
our 8 acre land in Loitokitok, and the construction of several
buildings that include three dormitories, school, kitchen, dining
hall, and administrative facilities. Most recently, we had two
volunteers from the Netherlands oversee the completion of a new
playroom, and study room; in addition, we have been able to raise
funds to build our bore-hole which has become a vital life-line that
provides us and the community with a reliable source of water in an
area where we may get rain only two weeks of the year.
