A
day in the 2014 social media pressed life. We follow the eyes of a young woman
who discovers her boyfriend to be experimenting within transsexuality.
What We Need & What You Get
Making a high quality short film for an international audience to be shown in film festivals is expensive. The money will be invested in locations, feeding our cast and crew, amongst all the other puzzle pieces a film requires. We want this film to look as raw and realistic as possible. We don't want to cut corners, but deliver a project that is honest to our vision.
Out of the Directors Vision:
Location Ideas
Christine Levine
A sweet, approachable young woman who believe blazers, a smile, high ambition and men’s watches can take her anywhere. She currently works as an assistant at a radio station aiming for a higher position; host would be the dream…
Tim Buyers
A small town boy who took the step of moving to the big city. He left his family early at the age of 15 and decided to do high school in New Jersey, cheaper but closer to New York for more possibilities in his future. He lived alone during his coming of age era until he met Christine. He behaves more like a brother around her then boyfriend. She kept him on track with high school and further on into his first and current job. She is his rock.
Steven Berry
24 years old, cocky man who always makes fun of everybody but with a good heart. Has known Tim ever since Tim was new to the city, his first close friend. Steve works currently at a car wash, but is still jumping around for whatever gives him money for his car and beer on weekends. He also plays drums in a band, only because of his Idol Lemmy Kilmister (Motörhead).
Nathan Brickston
22-year-old working at a comic book store. He is a timid, mellow guy who likes to agree rather than cause a ruckus. A computer and gaming nerd. He grew up on the same street as Steve and always looked up to him being the only kid growing up with his single mother. Steve always makes it seem like he looks down on him, but that’s their internal joke. Nathan brought Chris to the group back in high school..
Jenna Carney
A 25 year old, very friendly bartender who loves as much as she hates her job. She’s the type of woman who is more comfortable around guys rather than girls. You would think she’s a total butch, but she moves herself totally as a woman. Jen and Chris call each other whenever in doubt or just for boredom.
Even though it's a short production, it won't be easy. Fortunately, we have a lot of passion to make this a smooth, and successful shoot – with your help!

After two music videos shoots and one 5-minute short film, this will be my first attempt in making a short film . I have always been fascinated by unusual ways of approach and expression within film, I don’t feel the need of going “by the book” when it comes to the rules of filmmaking. As long as there is a clear message, interesting motion and story flow, why wouldn’t we break the 180-degree rule? I am opposed to the norm and want to create something different.
I am also very concerned about how far social media in negative terms has pushed our society and put huge pressure on my generation as I was born in the early 90’s. You don’t need to have an actual human interaction physically anymore. We have phones, tablets, computers in which we are connected 24/7 through Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and Snapchat just to give a few examples . Our identities are judged through a screen and we are slowly but gradually moving towards a forced exposure of ourselves. At least I feel whenever I question it, the majority disagrees more than agrees to the fact that we are turning into something more shallow and insecure than ever before.
This needs to be noticed somehow in my opinion, and I want to explore one of the many paths that one can fall into when in doubt and confusion but in desperate need of attention in life.

" I have learned some of my best lessons and life's riddles out in the world. As a child and Soldier I have traveled to many places in the world. Besides Army subculture I also grew up in a very diverse demographics in California, Maryland, and New York, and have been exposed to many subcultures within those communities. Many who have not been able to experience first hand will usually reject other communities. This is what I feel continually happens in our society rather then except we will persecute that individual on his or hers belief on religious views, political views, and groups/communities for example LGBT community. That is why I personally feel the need for stories and films such as these to expose what we as humans have to offer but more importantly educate those who have not been or traveled outside their bubble. I hope there are many of you out there who feel the same and will show your support in more films such as this."
