My name is Ryan Erlandsen and I'm a local photographer and filmmaker in Vancouver, Washington. I'm a fan of local history, legends and lore; many of which can spark ideas for potential great stories.
Before we get started, here is our teaser teaser trailer for Dead Lake.
My hope is that Marble Mountain Films can bring attention to Vancouver and the surrounding communities in SW Washington. We live in such a diverse and beautiful area, which completely lends itself to great storytelling. One of my favorite past-times is to take drives and scout potential film sites.
We love our local community and enjoy working with local businesses, schools and community organizations. That love is shown by donating our time and talent to help them succeed as well.
Lessons of the past
Our first project was
a short film called Unmarked.
With my photography skills, as my only
experience, we jumped headfirst into filmmaking. We found an all volunteer film
cast and crew. We, of course, had no budget, and basically wrote the screenplay
as we went along. Part of the movie set was even
created in my backyard.
Everybody starts somewhere
With our first film,
we made many mistakes, as you would expect, but you know what, we didn't give
up. We finished the project and we
learned a great deal in the process.
Call us crazy
Filmmaking is
addicting, expensive and time consuming.
Once you get bitten by the filmmaking bug, you are never quite the
same. We are ready to try this again,
but this time we want to raise the bar on the whole production process, while keeping the same goal to bring quality entertainment to the
local community. That is where you come
in. Will you help us succeed?
Where is Dead Lake?
![]()
Dead Lake is the former name of a lake just north of Camas Washington. The lake name was changed and is now called Fallen Leaf Lake. The local legends and lore of the real
Dead Lake inspired this story.
Here is a brief synopsis of our Dead Lake movie:
An art teacher takes a summer job in
Ridgefield Washington. When members of
her class start to go missing, she is forced to confront the evil that resides
there, as well as her own haunting past.

Filming Dead Lake won't be as easy as when we filmed Unmarked.
You can only do so much in your backyard before your neighbors take notice. We are asking for $20,000 to help fund Dead
Lake and make it a feature length film.
Your generous donation will help us feed our cast and crew, pay for gas and help
us purchase the equipment we need to bring you the highest
quality film possible with our budget.
We are using all local talent and working exclusively with small
business owners in Vancouver, Brush Prairie and Ridgefield, Washington.
We have great perks
for every single contribution. From on screen credits, clothing and DVD's, to
behind the scenes pictures and even being named an Associate or Executive Producer. In a way, all of you are filmmakers too.

Come
join us on this journey; we can't make it without you.
Thank you!
