The Writer, Director and Producer

Uppili Ra is the co-writer and the director/producer of the film. His love for film grew from an early age watching old Hollywood movies with his family on rainy Sunday afternoons as a child in St Albans, England. He actively started to write creative stories in English Literature class at school which extended to writing at home and on the odd commute to and from work after a stint at University. He trained at LFA, Met Film, London Film School and NFTS in directing and producing and progressed from writing novels to screenwriting for film over the last 10 years. In his spare time Uppili also runs a group of indie-filmmaking talent in London where he mentors young, emerging and diversity talent.

Afzaal is an emerging, highly dynamic and engaging screenwriter known for his innovative and edgy screenplays. His exciting works have caused a stir in London indie film space and he is a frequent collaborator with Uppili Ra, and they are also close friends from University.
Afzaal and Uppili created the idea for the film on one dark winter’s evening, from which a screenplay was born.

The Actors
Ellie Tanner trained at the East 15 acting school and has appeared in various films and theatre productions.

Release Date:

We will be releasing the film in film festivals from May 2016 onwards. Indiegogo supporters who select via Perks can get an exclusive link to view the film for an online premiere from June.

How:

We will create this short film with your help.  We are looking to raise funds to cover the minimum costs of this production. Our budget would be used to cover professional props and the set dressing, camera and sound and lighting equipment hire, cast and crew costs, editing and special effects and music composition costs, and finally marketing and distribution costs including film festival fees.

We really appreciate each and every donation no matter what it is and as a thank you we offering various exciting perks including access to view the completed film online, a special edition postcard signed by the director himself, cried of film production  art and signed scripts, posters amongst others.

How will we use the money - a breakdown:

Why this film?

The wildly successful horror genre is a continuing success both in cinema and TV. We just need to look at the huge number of successful franchises including Twilight, Zombie movies, Dracula and Frankenstein spin-offs and Penny Dreadful. The public love them and want more. It's shakespeare's 400th anniversary #shakespeare400 and this mashup will deliver up something exciting and new for the Bard's special fans.

Help to support us!

If you can please donate, we need all the funds we can get to make the film as best as we can. Additionally, there are other ways to support us!

Refer us to your friends!

For every purchase made on behalf of one of your referrals you can earn points towards getting your own film perk. Just get your referrer to contact Uppili@concept139.com and state the donation and who referred them to start collecting your points today.

Challenges

We have taken the time to get nearly everything in place before launching this campaign. We took the risk up front by delaying the launch of this campaign until we believed our film was ready, to lessen the risk to our backers. We have a great team in place so we don't predict many obstacles here.

Making movies can be expensive. In addition to all the equipment, labor and talent, we need to spread the word about the film.  We need to ensure that people know about what we are doing and why, and send the world our passionate drive and desire to create this piece of art, have access to it, and be able to benefit from the hard work, heart and soul that is poured into every ounce of this film, from opening to final scene.

Because this film is a “short” we have a very lean budget, cast and crew, but we still need the necessary tools and accommodations. That is where you come in.  If you buy one of our really cool perks, not only will you be recognized, but you will be one step closer to seeing this film.

We'll need your help raising the funds we need to make this passion project a reality.  So we thank you, from the bottom of our hearts. We 100% could not do this without your support.

Old school?  No Problem!

For those of you who don't like making donations over the Internet, please feel free to contact me on uppili@concept139.com and I will provide you how to contribute to the project offline. I will then post your contribution on the campaign with your name and I will deliver whatever perk for you that you want.

UPDATE: We have already started planning the shoot and agreeing the shooting dates, which will happen over the last few weeks of March 2016 with April to finish the post-production process.

"I have always made the most of my resources and written and directed and produced some great short and longer stories to date (with experienced crew) over the past 5-10 years. I am now going to do this on a bigger scale." - Uppili Ra

We are serious about this film and expect to be making our first feature film by the end of 2016 and this is a critical step towards that process going live, as well as a great story in itself to send out to the world.

We want you to be a part of this huge next step, and join us on this exciting journey!
