Short Summary
Hey guys,
I'm Joseph Ralko the writer/director of "Death Suit." Thank you much for taking the time to stop by our campaign page and I hope you believe in us enough to contribute, even if in just a small way.
I love to tell stories, it's my favorite thing in the world. This story in particular is really special to me because it's about childhood.
We all still carry our younger selves inside of us. We remember what it was like spending endless summers running around with friends, eating ice cream, playing games, not having a care. Stories about childhood I feel is the best way of connecting us and reminding us that no matter how different we are, we all start from the same core.
Having worked in all aspects of the film industry. I have the confidence in myself too not only get this project made but bring it to life in the way it deserves to be told.
My core team is a group that I have worked with for years. I've seen them time and time again get things done creatively, efficiently, and quickly. Not just on their own projects but mine as well. I know this time will be no different.
But for us to get to that point we need help. Your help.
What We Need
The reason we are seeking 10k from all you lovely people is because making movies isn't cheap! This film is going to be shot on 16mm which looks stunning and will really capture the gritty feel of old school Brooklyn. But shooting on film costs a lot of money. We need to pay for the film stock, the film processing and the digitizing fees.
That's in addition to all the equipment we'll need. From lights and sound to rental vans. Shooting on film requires more care which in turn means more money.
We also need to pay our amazing cast and crew! They are already working on a smaller budget then normal. They're giving us their amazing talents to give life to this project and we want to show we appreciate them in at least a small way.
They also need a way to get to set and eat when they get there! Traveling from location to location can add up in travel costs. Plus with everyone working 10+ hour days keeping everyone well fed will keep the energy level up!
The Impact
With your help we'll be able to not only get this movie made but get in front of the public. A film might be your story but once it's complete it's no longer yours. It goes out into the world and the public takes it as their own, which is the most exciting thing.
Within the last two years myself and my team have made a feature film that is set to debut this summer. As well as two seasons of a web series that has screened in numerous film festivals in Los Angeles, New York, and Rome. In addition to that we have numerous projects in various stages of productions.
We don't sit around and hope success will find us. We wake up every day hungry and eager to find and create success for ourseleves.
Risks & Challenges
Making any film is a challenge. It's a collaborative process that requires sometimes putting trust in total strangers.
Our core team is composed of a group that have worked together for years. Each project comes with it's own set of obstacles but at the end of the day we still always came in on time and on budget.
