More than 30 years of demoscene logos in one book!!

Since the birth of the demoscene, demogroups have always used logos, first on cracktros - perhaps in ASCII or PETSCII, then in demos. Logos rapidly evolved as an art form in their own right, with talented graphic designers creating elaborate and innovative designs despite the restrictions imposed on them by their chosen machine. Many graphic designers have developed special techniques for creating logos with limited palettes, resolution or tooling.

I was born in 1973 and remember my first computer from when I was 11, which was an Amstrad CPC 6128. Very quickly I was drawn to the demoscene, and started creating with my keyboard on OCP Art Studio. The first demos I saw were on a Commodore 64, and quickly I had the chance to own an Amiga 500 and discover Deluxe Paint IV, Protracker and the Amiga demoscene. With some friends we tried to make demos. I remember: Eight, Sunrise, Tex, Insomniak. I always liked watching demos and almost all of my floppy disks were demos. I decided to choose as a nickname "Logone", inspired by a group that I liked on Amstrad called "Logon System". The demoscene and the Amiga plays an important role in my personal and professional life, and I wanted through this book to give back what she brought me.

I got a Commodore64 in 1983 when i was 10, then an Atari ST in 1988, joined by an Amiga 500 in 1991. I enjoyed spending my days and nights communicating and swapping floppy disks with contacts all over Europe in the 80's to mid-90's. I consider myself as a (multi-scenes) Swapper, even though I did few logos, Pack-disks, and wrote some articles in diskmag/paper magazines about demos. I have always been in love with lettering and logos, so I decided to create in 2019 "Demoscene Logo Gallery" (DLG) on social networks, specialised in logos of all scenes.

My love of demos started with the Amiga, first from PD companies such as 17 bit, then through swapping locally and further afield. Following Jolyon Ralph's "learn to code" in Amiga Computing I created a few intros, pack disk loaders etc: all simple, but fun stuff. There's 13 working Amigas in my home office, from the 1000 to 4000 and all points in between. Former freelancer for Amiga Computing, CU Amiga, and editor of other Amiga books.
