The First Problem: Fees Out The Blowhole
Listing fee, re-listing fee, percentage of sales fee, insertion fee, buy it now fee, multiple category fee, credit card fee, quantity in stock fee, advertising fee, variable closing fee……When does it end? Every single one of those fee’s is a real fee to list and sell your stuff online. What’s next a fee fee?
The Second Problem: Nobody Can Find Your Stuff
Whoo hooo, over here, no not there…HERE! Your stuff is normally on one static webpage among the thousands of other pages vying for a buyers attention. No one is buying your stuff because they can’t find it!
The Third Problem: Your Stuff Never Sells
This probably shouldn't come as a surprise but if no one can find your stuffhow are they going to buy it? Plus, you’re not a marketing and sales expert, how are you suppose to know the best way to post, write a description, and market your product?
The Fourth Problem: No Loyalty Incentives
As a seller, you have hundreds of options out there when choosing a place to sell your stuff. These sites act like they are doing you a big favor by letting you pay them a ton of money to sell your own stuff. What ever happened tothanking someone for their business?
The Fifth Problem: No Social Selling Network
Thanks for the blog or message board with some puffer fish bragging about all of the stuff they’re selling and all of the clams they are raking in. How does that help me sell my stuff? Why aren't there any REAL resources to help me sell my stuff?
We decided to make the dream a reality!
DimFish Was Born
It started as us sketching some ideas on paper about what we would do differently if we had a site. We were just brainstorming idea’s and trying to “one up” each other. A couple of hours later, we looked at each other and thought “this is really good, why not try and make it happen?” So we decided to take it a step further.
We started to chart out the flow of the site and began to get a little more organized. At one point we even impressed one of our wives, which was a big step for us. So now we had an idea, and a structure or foundation for the site. Next came the hard part a design for the site!
Behold, the current mock-up of the homepage.
Then we realized that was only one page! So we got back to work.
We set out to design the hundreds of screen layouts that you need for a functioning site. It took months to make each one just right. The concept for the site is complicated even though the execution for the user is really simple.
So now we have conceptualized a fun, simple to use website that eliminates all of the problems with selling your stuff online.
The First Solution: Eliminate Fees
Ok, so we can’t completely eliminate all of the fees but we can sure come close. We don’t believe it should cost you anything to list your product and we don’t believe you should need an advanced degree to figure out a fee chart. We made it very simple. List your stuff for as long as you want on as many pages as you want for FREE. If it sells, you pay a buck. No percentage of the sale, no tiers where the category of the product or the cost of the product affect what you pay. That’s it, 4 quarters, 10 dimes, or 1 Washington. You sell something that costs $20, you pay a buck. You sell something that costs $100,000, you pay a buck. Does it get any easier then that?
The Second Solution: Make Your Stuff More Visible
If people can’t see it, they aren’t going to buy it. We have created a site that allows you to display your stuff on as many pages as you want with our “Stream” and “School” features generating tons of extra exposure and views for your stuff.
The Third Solution: Sell All Your Stuff
Any good Salefish worth their salt will tell you that sales is just a numbers game. The more people that see a product, the greater chance that you will sell it. With our features to give you greater exposure and our teeny tiny fee’s you are able to sell your stuff for cheaper and make more money. That my friends, is a recipe for success!
The Fourth Solution: Tons of Incentives
Nothing irks us more than a business not appreciating it’s loyal customers. We set out to do the exact opposite. We have dozens of ways for you to both earn and save money. Here are just a couple of them:
1. We are pooling our resources to be able to offer everyone a reduced credit card transaction fee.
2. Our “fish food” rewards program which is redeemable for CASH! This isn’t some ridiculous rewards program where you need to jump through hoops to save a couple of dollars. You earn fish food starting with creating a new account on the site.
3. Levels- as you continue to use the site you will move to different levels each with it’s own unique rewards and incentives to help you make more money. For example, you can get an even lower credit card transaction fee or have your threshold for cashing in fish food reduced.
4. Unlimited earning potential and the ability to earn money even if you don’t have anything to sell!
The Fifth Solution: A Social Selling Network
This is the feature of the site that we are most excited about. Never before has a site allowed users to help each other sell their stuff. With our “Stream” and “School” features you will be able to do things like:
- Hand select other user’s products to compliment your stuff and earn cash when it sells. Helping your fellow user with a kickback!
- Invite other user’s to place their products with your products and earn cash when they sell.
- Select and group products together to market and earn cash each time something from the group sells. Use your expertise to help several people sell their stuff.
- Place your products in the hands of an “expert” internet seller. Let them do all the work!
