Story
A year ago we conducted first experiments with our new technology and realised that we could create something really unique. The moment when the first DIRO prototype opened his eyes and said "Hello, world!" was really amazing. It was a long journey and we spent all our time in developing and testing the world's first teddy bear robot. Today we have the finished pre-production prototype and with your support we will be able to start manufacturing DIRO on a larger scale. With your help DIRO will be able to get to each house, ecpecially to those who needs him most.

Our mission
Nowadays the world is divided into two parts: simple things and high-tech. We want to combine both. We believe that technology should serve simple things in our every day life. Playing with a real teddy bear robot instead of looking into smartphones provides a real sense of technology in a simple object, improving the entertainment kids get.
Timeline
It's been a long journey but now we are 70% ready for mass production. All we need is a little push to get us over the edge!

Risks & Challenges
Supplier delays
Since DIRO consists of many different technological components, we have to deal with numerous suppliers. Although we do have several options for each component, communication with suppliers or shipment delays can cause unexpected delays which the process, especially since many electronic components are being manufactured in Asia. We will obviously keep everyone updated about our progress and we will do whatever we can to avoid delays but unfortunately not everything can be prevented.
Voice recognition
We use external services for high quality speech recognition and therefore we depend on the policies of these services' providers. The current policies are favorable to us and it is unlikely that they will change in the future. In fact, we expect to see even greater technologies available to use very soon!
CE/FCC Certifications
Although we are doing our very best and are in constant communication with test labs, CE and FCC certifications remain a tricky issue. Firstly, they are not cheap and FCC requires extensive testing by accredited labs. And secondly, they might cause a delay with the process if clearance is not given to us within the estimated time frame.
