What You Get

Your watch will be shipped as soon as the campaign ends along with a multi-tool that will allow you to remove links from the steel band so you can size it to your wrist from your home. The tool can also be used to replace the band altogether with something you find more appealing (maybe leather...maybe a NATO...maybe milanese...who knows - whatever you like.) Furthermore, by having this tool you can interchange bands as much as you like, creating different styles for different occasions or for any other reason.

My watch with a NATO strap! The band width is 22mm. There are tons of reasonably priced options on ebay (this is where I got mine) to achieve your desired look using the multi-tool.

The Long Story

Not important unless you're curious (previous campaign attempt)

So basically my partner and I had an idea to create customizable titanium dials using a CO2 laser and anodization. We thought it was pretty unique because most custom dials were cheaply printed using paper or plastic. By using recycled titanium the faces had a shine to them and the process was quick and cheap enough to be affordable on a larger scale.  People could choose between designing their own watch or choosing from a variety of pre-made designs. Our first campaign almost got us to an ambitious goal - the minimum purchase order of the watches and some equipment - but ultimately fell short. As the campaign came to an end people started to withdraw when they realized we were not going to meet our goal, but we felt there was a good enough response to try again. With this in mind we decided to take out a loan and purchased the watches ahead of time. We believed that with a lower goal we could be successful and then make up the difference by selling watches afterwards. Having watches on hand also allowed us to demonstrate the concept in more detail by showing a number of examples of what could be done. This campaign went more poorly than the first. Perhaps it was some changes we made to the design process, perhaps it was the time of year, perhaps the concept just wasn't as cool as we thought it was, but all we know is that we didn't make it for a second time. At this point our hopes were deflated and we decided to move on with other aspects of life like work and school. Knowing what we know now we would do a lot of things differently, but it was a great learning experience and a fun experiment. The brand name we came up with was "oblako" and is laser embossed on both the case back and clasp. These are a limited edition in the lamest sense because they will never be produced again and it has a bit of a fun story to it.  We now want to offload as much of the remaining inventory as we can to recoup some of our costs. We took a long time finding a watch we were happy with and stand by the exceptional quality (especially at this price point). We are confident in saying that you could not find another watch as nice as this one for less money.
