Directors Statement
The story of Do You Know Where You Are? is one that tackles real issues people face in our world everyday. The topics of grief, abuse, regret, and self-harm seem to be hard for a lot of people to deal with and find ways to express, and so I wanted to take a stab at that. I wanted to be able to be as vulnerable as possible in writing this story and try my best to connect with people who have faced trauma in their lives, while adding in an element of psychological horror to the mix. The mix of horror and trauma speaks to me because trauma differs in its effects on people and to a lot of people it can be something that completely takes over and ruins every aspect of their being. With all this being said, the story shows us a case of trauma that literally haunts a young man into confronting it and finding a way to get over it and come back to a peaceful way of living through acceptance of what is actually true. - Caleb Rodriguez
