Her yıl dünyanın saygın festivallerinden derlediği en yeni, yaratıcı ve ödüllü belgeselleri ve Türkiye’nin bu alandaki yeni ürünlerini bir araya getiren DOCUMENTARIST İstanbul Belgesel Günleri, 13-18 Haziran’da 8. yılını kutlamaya hazırlanıyor. Bugüne kadar bağımsızlığını korumayı başaran festivalimiz, bunu sürdürebilmek ve bu yılki programını hakkıyla gerçekleştirebilmek için bu sefer siz takipçilerinin desteğine ihtiyaç duyuyor.

Mütevazı bir etkinlik olarak yola çıktığı 2008 yılından bu yana giderek büyüyen, zamanla sinema seyircisinin, yurt içi ve yurt dışındaki belgeselcilerin büyük ilgisiyle karşılaşan DOCUMENTARIST, yıldan yıla profesyonelleşen ekibi ve sayısı giderek genişleyen gönüllüleriyle her yıl çıtayı biraz daha yükselterek Türkiye’deki yeni kuşak belgesel yönetmenlerinin de buluştuğu, filmlerini sergilediği bir platform haline geldi. Daha çok seyirciye ulaşması hedefiyle yerli filmleri ücretsiz gösterme karar aldı.

Düzenlediği uluslararası atölyelerde, belgeselcilerin yeni projelerini eğitmenler eşliğinde geliştirmelerine önayak oldu. Film gösterimlerinin yanı sıra belgesel geliştirme atölyeleri, sinema dersleri (master class), forum, panel, söyleşi gibi yan etkinlikleri ile son 7 yılda belgesel alanında zengin bir birikim oluşturdu.

Başından beri yarışmasız olarak düzenlenen DOCUMENTARIST, son 5 yıldır bağımsız belgeselcileri teşvik amacıyla programındaki yerli yönetmenlere Johan van der Keuken Yeni Yetenek Ödülü adı altında bir özendirme ödülü veriyor. Yakın zamanda buna, uluslararası eleştirmenlerden oluşan jürinin yabancı film seçkisi içinden bir filme verdiği FIPRESCI Ödülü de eklendi.

DOCUMENTARIST, festival haftasıyla sınırlı bir etkinlik olmakla kalmıyor: Ayrıca altı yıldır Hangi İnsan Hakları? Film Festivali, SaturDox Belgesel Buluşmaları gibi paralel etkinlikler, yıl içine yayılan Belgesel Geliştirme Atölyeleri, Çocuk Atölyeleri, Belgesel Forumu, yurt dışı ve yurt içi özel gösterimler düzenliyor.

Yaşasın belgeseller! Yaşasın bağımsız festivaller!

Resmi kurumlardan herhangi bir destek almadan bugüne gelen DOCUMENTARIST, 8. yılında yine “dünyanın belgeselini” ayağınıza getirmeye hazırlanırken, temel giderlerini karşılamak için dostlarının desteğine ihtiyaç duyuyor.

Festivali düzenlemek için gereken bütçenin ancak üçte biri her zamanki destekçilerinden sağlanmış durumda ve bu meblağ, programdaki filmlerin kopyalarının tedariki, katalog basımı, telif ücretleri ve jüri üyeleri ile konuk yönetmenlerin bir kısmının ağırlamasına yetiyor.

Filmlerin Türkçe altyazılarının hazırlanması, davet etmek istediğimiz diğer konuk yönetmenlerin uçak ve konaklama giderlerinin karşılanması, poster, bez afiş, gösterim çizelgesi gibi tanıtım malzemelerinin basımı, gösterim donanımlarının kiralanması vb. için gerekli ek bütçeyi DOCUMENTARIST bireysel destekçilerinden sağlamayı umuyor.

Kısaca DOCUMENTARIST, bugüne kadar etkinliklerini severek izleyen, gösterim, söyleşi, atölye ve benzeri buluşmalara katılarak bize manevi destek veren sıkı takipçileri başta olmak üzere, tüm belgeselseverlerin katkılarını bekliyor.

DOCUMENTARIST is waiting for your support

DOCUMENTARIST Istanbul Documentary Days, which gathers the newest, most creative and award winning documentaries every year from the most prestigious festivals all over the world and the new works in Turkey, is preparing to celebrate its 8th year between 13 and 18 of June. Our festival, which was trying to stand on its own two feet until today, needs your support this year in order to carry on and make the best of this years' festival program.

DOCUMENTARIST, which began as a little activity in 2008, developed every year and attracted great attention from filmgoers and documentary makers both nationally and internationally. With its team becoming more professional every year and with volunteers increasing each day, it became a platform where the new generation documentary directors in Turkey meet. By organizing workshops, it helped the documentarists to improve their new projects working with tutors. Beside film screenings, it created a rich cultural accumulation with its side activities like documentary development workshops, cinema master classes, forums and panel discussions about documentary related issues.

The festival, which didn't start with a competition section, has been giving a New Talent Award to local directors in the festival program for the last five years in order to support the independent documentarists. Recently, the FIPRESCI Award which is given to the foreign films by a jury of international critics has also been established in the festival.

DOCUMENTARIST is not a festival limited to the festival week. It also organises parallel activities like Which Human Rights? Film Festival, SaturDox Documentary Meetings, Documentary Development Workshops, Children's Workshops, Documentary Forums throughout the year and special film screenings both nationally and internationally.

Long Live Documentaries! Long Live Independent Festivals!

As DOCUMENTARIST prepares to bring "the documentary of the world" to you it needs the support of its friends. Never before has the festival received public funds but today it needs help in order to meet its basic expenses.

Third of the budget needed to organise the festival is provided by the regular supporters but this amount is only enough for royalties of films, procurement of copies, printing of catalogues and hosting of jury members and some guest directors.

DOCUMENTARIST hopes to find the additional budget needed for the preparation of subtitles of its films, flight tickets and accommodation expenses for some guest directors and for printing the promotional materials like posters, cloth banners and screening schedules from individual supporters.

In summary, DOCUMENTARIST is expecting the contribution of all documentary lovers, especially of those who gave us moral support until today by joining our activities, film screenings, panel talks, workshops etc.
