OUR MISSION...

Our goal is to open our first brick and mortar storefront that will sell gently used pet products, donated by the public, at a fraction of the retail price. (Think Salvation Army for pets.)The proceeds will go toward funding vouchers for people suffering a financial hardship to pay for their pets’ urgent care costs. Our store will also include an all-encompassing community aspect with our walls displaying featured pet artists and participating in the local “First Friday”.

We want our store to be more than just a building to buy pet products, but a place of comfort and resource. We will offer a free photo-booth and delicious, nutritious homemade treats in addition to our vast variety of pet products. We'll strive to provide an affordable solution to those who have a home and all the love to give, but might not always have the means to provide what’s necessary for an animal in transition or needing a new permanent home.

We’d like you to be a part of the solution and invite you to get involved. Beyond giving to and sharing out this campaign with your friends and family, which will get us off on the right paw. You can donate your gently used items, money or services to help us provide vouchers for animals with medical needs and/or items they may otherwise have to do without.

Sometimes love is only the beginning.

OUR STORY...

We are Charles & Desiree, the loves of each other’s lives. Desiree and I, both animal lovers, grew up with pets. While I grew up with more domestic animals (dogs and cats), Desiree had a pet calf named “Baby Doll” and often visited her aunt who owned a pot belly pig, “Clyde.” As passionate animal lovers, Desiree and I are committed to rescuing pets in need. Our home has always had an open door to animals found roaming the streets. We’ve provided temporary homes for dogs and cats while searching for their true owners or helping them find permanent loving homes. We’d do anything in our power to make sure that abandoned pets never see a shelter.

Meet Sasha, the newest permanent addition to our family. A neighbor found Sasha roaming the streets of Las Vegas where she was nearly hit by a car. We took her in, immediately posted signs, placed inquiries online and drove to all the nearby veterinarians and groomers hoping to find that her owners were desperately searching for her. Upon discovering her microchip, we were surprised to learn that Sasha’s (formerly known as Foxxy) previous family no longer wanted her and had no interest in helping her find a new home.

We were told Sasha is about 3 yrs. old, but with her missing teeth and deteriorated hips and back legs, she’s likely older or never received appropriate vet care. She has trouble jumping off the sofa and climbing the stairs of our home. When we took her in, she was in need of shots, grooming and further medical attention. She needs treatment for her hips, allergy medicine and more; much like many animals who find themselves in new loving homes needing assistance with medicine, vaccinations, surgeries, and more.

Sasha came to us at a time when Desiree and I were between paychecks; this made the first two weeks a struggle for all of us. Lucky for us and Sasha, our friend Jeanette, who also owns a Chihuahua, donated some items to help make for a smooth transition into her becoming a permanent family member in our home.

During this transition period, with Sasha, we found that unfortunately there are not enough affordable resources available for items such as harnesses, leashes, grooming tools, pet beds, veterinarian visits, vaccinations, pet medicine and all the necessary items and services needed to immediately care for a rescued pet. Had it not been for our friend’s assistance, it would’ve been a tough couple of weeks and thus the idea of Doggy Do-Overs was born.

ABOUT THE FOUNDER...

I'm Charles and ever since I can remember I have had an entrepreneurial spirit. My first solo venture was at 20; I started a table-top vending machine company that catered to salons and barbers… Lord knows people can starve to death waiting for their turn in the chair! Throughout the years I progressed into the manufacturing of clothing and made my way to China working with several different factories. Even though I have a deep fondness for fashion, my real passion has always been film. With a Canon camera and an eye for visualizing a story, I started my own film company.

I have worked on many projects as a cinematographer, from working with N.A.S.A. to shooting The Wall Flowers for PBS, but I have a special love for things outside the box. I have always had a soft spot for animals, so finding myself in a position to help them and put my film skills to use just seems like a beautifully kismet fit. Call it fate, call it destiny or just call it dumb luck that I happened to fall in love with a woman who shares my passions AND has previous non-profit experience. Everything happens for a reason and I have been blessed to realize what my reason is.
