The Story
(Don’t) Do It is an independent psychological thriller short film being created by young filmmakers based in Los Angeles. It tells the story of Simon, an anxious young man consumed by jealousy over the relationship between his love, Chloe, and her boyfriend, Kyle. Unexpectedly, Simon learns Kyle has been unfaithful to Chloe, sending him over the edge towards a vengeful path.
Who We Are
The team creating (Don't) Do It have been working together for the past five years. We recently relocated from Ohio to Los Angeles over the pandemic to follow our dreams of working in the film industry. Growing up, we all shared a passion for cinematic storytelling and the process behind bringing these stories to life. This passion led us to meeting each other and becoming not only collaborators, but also friends.
The script was written by Cleveland native, Raan Shalom, who is bringing his character driven stories to life once again with a dark flare. This is his second time collaborating with our director Dean Parker. Dean has been making films since he was 11 years old and had the opportunity in college to direct a short that won a student Emmy Award. He is continuing his theme of telling stories about hopeless romantics, but is excited for the dark psychological tone of this short.

The next members of our team are the producers: Josh Lehrfeld and Michaela Chilenski. This is Josh's third time producing a short in L.A. along with many other projects in Ohio including Call the Shot which was also a collaboration with Raan and Dean. He is a big fan of psychological thrillers and is excited to bring his charm and relentless work ethic to this short. Michaela Chilenski is taking on her first time producing a short film that isn't a 48 hour short film competition. She is looking forward to having more than 12 hours to lock down locations, confirm actors, and gather props. With her organization and multitasking skills she is also excited to be assistant directing the film.

Why Are We Fundraising?
Shooting a short film is costly, especially in Los Angeles (a lot more than Ohio). Location permits are more expensive, along with renting the locations, and film equipment. We will be shooting the 20 page script over the span of four days in five different locations with five actors. Although, this may seem like a lot for a four day shoot every penny will be budgeted, stretched, and used to the fullest.
A donation of any amount is helpful and greatly appreciated. If you are unable to donate, please consider helping us by sharing the link to this page on social media and telling your friends and family about this film.
Thank you!!!!
By donating to our film you will be helping us take one more step towards our dreams of becoming working professionals in the film industry. We cannot wait to share this story with you all.
