Four years
ago I decided that I was not going to let fate decide if I was to become a
parent or not. As my 40th birthday is approaching it became clear that it
was time to make this dream come true on my own.
Well, life
happened and I have decided marriage isn't for me right now. Most people assume
that this means I do not want children (or can not have them). That could not
be farther from the truth! I can not picture my future without being a parent.
When I hear my friends and co-workers talking about their children my heart
aches. I would do anything to become a parent.
I am part of a community of strong, independent people who believe you don't
need a partner to have a fulfilling life. Now this type of thinking does
have its drawbacks. The whole "having children" thing is a
tad more difficult without a partner, not to mention it is also way more
expensive.
I came up with an Tinder like App concept to help people who are in the same situation. DonR App is an online meeting place for single men, women and
couples to connect with the wonderful donors and surrogates,
knowing that many people do not have access to these services - due to cost and
other reasons. It is very much like a dating site- but single men and women,
gay or straight and couples meet to have kids.
Where are we now and what do we need?
I started funding the app development about 9 months ago. I have more than maximized my financial resources and cannot move forward
without help.
The funds will be used to finish the development, pay for overhead and the costs to
market the app.
About the DonR App and features:
DonR is a social networking app that facilitates
introductions between aspiring parents with the intention of helping them find
their own donor, surrogate or co-parent worldwide.
The App is a NOT fertility, egg donor or sperm donor service and it does NOT
offer legal advice relating to co-parenting or custody arrangements and related
rights and claims.
We simply offer an online meeting place for single men, women and couples to
connect with the wonderful donors and surrogates who have registered, knowing
that many people do not have access to these services - due to cost and other
reasons. It is very much like a dating site- but single men and women, gay or
