Doreen - The Movie
Doreen,
and her infamous daughters Trojan and Tangerine, became an internet sensation
when "Doreen's Story" went viral on YouTube, topping over one and a quarter million hits
virtually overnight. This was followed by a 100% sell-out touring stage show. Now, David Tristram,
creator of the original video and one of the UK's most popular comedy
playwrights and Indie film-makers, is planning a full-length feature movie - and you can be an important part of its success.
Be Part of It
We're currently using the popular technique of crowdfunding to raise some of the capital needed for this Independent movie, which will finally bring the Black Country, the West Midlands, its wonderful people and unique sense of humour to the big screen. How does it work? Well, lots of people get behind a project because they really want to see it happen, and pledge relatively small amounts of money in return for unique rewards. For example, a £15 pledge could secure your DVD of the movie. A £50 pledge could guarantee you two tickets to the glamorous gala premiere next Autumn. Other pledges might mean you get to be an extra, and see your name on the movie credits - there are even exciting opportunities for local corporate sponsorship and brand exposure. Multiply the pledges by the power of social media, and if enough people want it to happen, it will. Crowdfunding is all about people power, so spread the word as widely and as often as possible to family, friends and colleagues.
The money raised goes towards hiring specialist equipment and actors, so we get a top-notch finished product. And sometimes there may be something other than money that you can pledge which is just as valuable to us - a shoot location, for example, or the loan of unusual props. There are lots of opportunities to be involved, and along the way you'll get all the behind-the-scenes news and gossip, location shots, and updates.
If you'd like to support the making of this unique British comedy, make your pledge and choose a perk, or for more information you can email us: doreen@flyingducks.biz
Just think - this time next year you could be attending a world premiere...
