The story...
(Concept Art)
After a series of bad dating experiences a man decides to give one last try at finding a woman, but when the woman he met online arrives he is shocked to find out she is a Siamese twin. He must make a decision whether to get out of dodge or see the date through.
Nice to meet you...
My name is James Ehle, I am the writer and director of the film ‘Double Date’. I’m currently a junior in the film production program at Huntington University. I’ve worked on numerous award-winning student films over the last three years. My crew and I take our projects very seriously and strive for the highest level of professionalism in our films.
This film we are producing is my junior thesis film. We are casting professional actors from Chicago, creating custom costumes, utilizing real locations, and have plans to run the film through the festival circuit once completed. We’re asking for your help to make this project the best quality possible, any contributions will go towards expenses the film will acquire during the pre-production process through the film festival process.
My fellow classmates and I are eager to produce a film that will make audiences laugh, but take away the message of the importance of acceptance shown in the film. Any contributions are sincerely appreciated and will help us achieve our goal to make a film everyone can be proud of.
Our goal...
We are looking to raise $1500 towards the film. That money will go towards: hiring professional Chicago actors, travel expenses, production design, custom costume design, overnight accommodations for actors, location rental costs, and festival entry fees. $1500 would ensure a film with high production value in every respect and help us create a more professional film.
We have included some fun perks that you’ll receive depending on the contribution you make to our film. These perks range from ‘special thanks’ credits and digital access to the film to posters, a pre-screening and even producer credits! We will also keep updating the film’s progress on this page throughout the production processes.
The value...
I believe it’s important for a film to have a message, something the audience can take away. Our film expresses the importance of acceptance, especially about not judging a book by it’s cover. The main character has to overcome the fact that his date is conjoined at the hip to her sister, he has to look past her flaws to see who she really is.
Over the past three years I have been a part of several award winning films, including an international award winning student film. Writing is one of my favorite aspects of the filmmaking process, but I also have experience in a number of roles ranging from director to production designer to producer. I value the importance of each position on the film set, that's why I've carefully selected my talented crew.
