Hello. I am a writer, sometimes CG Supervisor/artist/general creative person, humbly making my way through life the best I can. Drake* has been my faithful feline companion for the past five years, since she chose me to follow around on life's adventures.

This past week, Drake became seriously ill. After several visits to the pet hospital, a battery of x-rays and an exploratory surgery, it was determined she is suffering from pancreatitis. She has been fitted with a feeding tube and will require round-the-clock care in order to recover, which I am more than willing to provide as she means the world to me. 

Unfortunately, the $2000+ in vet bills that have quickly racked-up could not have come at a worse time. While the figure may not seem astronomical, I lead a very frugal existence and don't generally make huge piles of cash at what I do. Having the lump sum equivalent of a MacBook Pro disappear from my bank account now would completely cripple me/us heading into the new year.

Really, my whole life is me and my cat and my work, as sad and pathetic as that sounds. Through good times and bad times, she's always been there for me, with a paw on my hand, or a stream of meows as she tells me everything she saw out the window that day. I am not normally one to ask for charity, but the thought of poor Drake in pain and discomfort is almost more than I can handle.
