During this same time, i was also being heavily influenced by books as well as the music I listened to which mainly included Reggae and socially conscious Hip Hop.

I encountered the beginning stages to my writing career in 1993 when i created my staple character named DREADLOCKS, loosely based on myself in my own likeness. My company, URBAN STYLE COMICS, released our first issue of DREADLOCKS in 1995 first Dreadlocks title in 1996. Since then, we have released a total of 11 comic books and 1 graphic novel.
Yearly comic book conventions, also known as "comic cons" are where i highlight my books at the most. Past and reoccuring shows include ECBACC Philly, Motor City Black Age of Comics, OnyxCon Atlanta, The Black Age Chicago, New York Comic Con, Wizard World Chicago, Los Angeles and Philly, San Diego Comic Con International, Texas Black Expo, Indiana Black Expo, Chicago Caribbean Festival, C2E2 Comic Convention Chicago, Detroit FanFare, Harlem Book Fair, and Motor City Comic Con. Articles featuring Urban Style Comics include The Source Magazine, Michigan Citizen, Michigan Chronicle, and more.

I've been working on the Dreadlocks Comic book series for approximately 15 years. Many people have asked was it going to ever be an animated movie, and I would always promise that one day, there officially will. Now with websites and services like Indiegogo that possibility. The wonderful thing about sites like Indiegogo is the fact that is necessary to have community involvement, social promotion, and most of all, financial help. Supply/Demand, if you will...
My goal for this project has been set for a $2000. Please contribute to make the dream of Dreadlocks become an animated movie.
Making this long awaited movie not only fulfills our dreams, but also the dreams of those artists, writers, and publishers who do NOT have the means to do so.
