Story of My Book
Dream Smaller includes genuine stories from real women on their own journeys to having a life they are passionate about living. After 50+ interviews with women from a diverse range of backgrounds, I have connected the dots and outlined the key components to “Having It All” in the context of your own life.
My name is Drew Dudley and I am the author of Dream Smaller: A Reaction Against the Idea That Women Can’t “Have It All”. I wrote this book because I was told to #DreamSmaller in relation to my personal and professional goals when they weren’t all that lofty. It became my mission to find women out there in the big bad world who have designed their lives in an intentional way to incorporate what was most important to them. They “Have It All” in the context of their own life!
My hope is that, in reading this book, you will discover that no dream is too big to tackle if you have the right structure in place to accomplish it. In this book, I hope to instill the same sort of passion and excitement that I have for goal setting and personal/professional development in you. Ultimately, I want you to see this book as a tool to help you turn the life you’ve dreamed of into a reality!
In this book, you'll learn about community building and finding inspiration.
- You’ll hear from Shannon Vetto, a former-executive who felt lost at a transition point in her career and ended up pivoting to an entirely new industry. Find out how she employed her “Personal Board of Directors” in this uncertain period to get the advice and coaching she needed to take a leap of faith!
- The Story of Jenn Leitch. After 10 years as a nurse, her manager pushed her to take on more responsibility. In order to accomplish her new career goals, Jenn went back to school not once but twice all while raising two children. Find out how she was able to logistically make it all happen!
- You’ll learn about how Chelsey White took the leap of faith to turn her passion for baking into her paycheck becoming a cake influencer on Instagram!
You will love this book if you are an introspective individual with big dreams. Dream Smaller: A Reaction Against the Idea That Women Can’t “Have It All” is a non-fiction book that speaks to women in any season of their lives who are looking at using values-based decision making to design the life they dream of living for the first time.
About the Author
No one can accuse Drew Dudley of being one dimensional. By day, she is a Sales Enablement Specialist at Highspot, a SaaS company dedicated to aligning sales and marketing teams. By night, she practices her love of cooking, writes short fiction, and hunts for the best craft beer in Seattle.
Drew started writing this book because she envisioned a big life for herself. With no compass to point her in the right direction, she went in search of the women who “Have It All'”. What Drew found was no cookie-cutter answer. The concept of “Having It All” means different things to different people at different stages in their lives.
When she is not wearing her superwoman cape, Drew spends far too much time and energy in the pursuit of the perfect brunch and traveling the world. 9 times out of 10 she will make friends with the person seated next to her on the airplane and find out their entire life story. Travel with her at your own risk.
