Dredge was initially conceived as a conventional gangster film many summers ago, and has since undergone several different drafts. It eventually transformed into the body-horror and black-comedy-infused class drama that completed shooting in August 2019.
Dredge follows three desperate women on a maddeningly humid afternoon in the suburbs: Cora (Sarah Reny), whose ill-fated real estate venture is failing to launder her blood money; Ana (Pamela Estrada), a headstrong, self-employed landscape architect grooming the property to support her ailing mother; and Devin (Erica Hill), a bored and lovelorn Jehovah's Witness in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Writer/Director Zach Closs and Producer Joe Craib are an established young filmmaking team based in Toronto, Ontario. They have completed three different shorts together in the last year and a half alone - the first of which, Devout, has already found success with the Toronto Shorts International Film Festival, The Lift-Off Global Network Film Festival, and won an Award of Excellence from Global Shorts. We are a familiar, efficient team, used to solving problems with creativity rather than money.
This time around, we have expanded our ambitions and, as a consequence, we are now looking to outside backers to help the film along to completion!

As the film has already been shot, this campaign will help us field post-production costs, including sound recording, mixing and editing to accompany our visual effects. It will also go towards our soundtrack, which will consist of both original, and licensed tracks. Lastly, help us submit to as many film festivals as possible to ensure Dredge is seen!
Our goal for this campaign is $2000. We are utilizing Flexible Funding; that means every dollar raised will go toward the film regardless if we meet our goal or not.
Thank you so much for taking the time to check out our campaign, and for supporting the independent film community! You can keep up with the latest from the film by following us on Instagram:
