THE STORY
Hard-partying Ian, struggling musician Lisa, and heartbroken Connor are three friends who find themselves tested in various states of depression: alcohol addiction, financial instability and unrequited emotional attachment.
After major events occur in their lives, Ian's drinking becomes out of control, and Lisa has to decide whether or not to accept a lucrative promotion at her unfulfilling day job- essentially slamming the door on her musical aspirations. Meanwhile, Connor attempts to break free of his codependence & crippling heartbreak while overcoming prejudices of his sexuality.
As time goes by, difficult decisions are made, unexpected realizations are discovered and friendships come to an end.
OUR GOAL
This project's main themes are about struggling with alcohol and addiction, prejudices in the LGBTQ community and fulfilling your dreams that seem impossible to achieve.
Instead of just focusing on one issue, we chose to have three very different characters in order to try and connect with as many people and viewers as possible.
We believe that films have the ability to inform you, challenge you and often inspire you to make positive changes in your life as well as the lives of others. By shining a light on some of the aforementioned issues as well as others, we want DRY SPELL to serve as story of hope.
WHAT WE NEED
There are a number of resources that are necessary in creating a project like this. We're raising funds for the costs of filming equipment and a professional cast & crew, as well as submitting it to festivals and production companies. Your contribution will help make Dry Spell the best project it can be aesthetically, as well as in content and subject matter.
OTHER WAYS YOU CAN HELP
Even if you can't contribute financially, you can still join us on this voyage by spreading the word about our campaign and sharing it through Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or any other social media outlet that you love.
We are extremely passionate about this project and want it to inspire positive change, spread peace and get people out of their dry spells of hope.
We hope to begin filming shortly after our campaign closes, for continuous updates and it's release, check out www.dryspellfilm.com.
Thank you so much for your contribution and for supporting independent filmmaking; ones with strong messages about alcohol abuse, music and the LGBTQ community. Thank you for supporting DRY SPELL!
