We are in the homestretch of our renovations and need your help to re-open in August!
Oh, beloved friends!
We miss you and we need some help in the final push to get our doors open again! We closed back in March with dreams of a quick six-week renovation. The best laid plans, as they say, often go awry. We have faced some setbacks that have chewed up and spit out our timeline and our budget, but this has not dampened our determination to get Dulce Vegan back open and better than ever.

Who we are:
If you don’t know us, Dulce Vegan began as a small, wholesale, plant-based, organic baking business in 2006. We rented and moved through a variety of kitchen spaces while the business grew and changed. The years of farmer’s markets and late night baking for restaurants and cafes paid off, and in the summer of 2011 Dulce Vegan Bakery and Café opened its brick and mortar location in the vibrant Kirkwood neighborhood of Atlanta.
Our Story:
When we first opened four years ago we did the very best we could with a very small budget. At the time, our no-frills furnishings met our needs and did the job. Now, as a much busier cafe, we needed to make some changes and update some of our equipment to help us run things more smoothly and have the ability to offer more of the things you love. We also wanted to offer all of our amazing and loyal customers a fresh and welcoming space that they could enjoy just as much as the food and the sweets.

We are passionate about good food, good coffee and the kind of sweets that you dream about the next day, and our renovation will make it possible for us to bring the quality of our food and our service to the next level. With respect to the food, we will feature a refined menu with more gluten free and soy free options. On the coffee front, we are crafting a new drink menu that includes all of your old favorites alongside an expanded list of house-made syrups and drink specials. Last but not least, our front counter and kitchen redesign will increase our capacity to make sweets, specialty cakes, and wedding cakes for all of your vegan bakery needs. More cinnamon rolls you say? No problem!
During our renovation we were not able to create any more square footage, but we are making space by being smart about how we design the new kitchen. Now, on busy days, we will be able to keep up with the demands of a full cafe in a much more efficient (and thus speedy) manner. It’s a win-win!

How We Will Use the Funds:
We will use this money to get the last of our much needed equipment and decor in place, including:
*A new bakery case;
*Two new coolers and freezer for the kitchen;
*A new water boiler.
(As many of you know, our old water boiler was a bit possessed, and used to just turn on whenever it liked, which is not a good thing for a piece of equipment that dispenses near-boiling water!)

Risks & Challenges:
While the renovations are drawing to a close, we’re still up against the possibility of setbacks like delays in construction, holdups with permits and licensing, unexpected building issues and the list goes on. We’ve persevered thus far, and want you to know that we’re committed to opening no matter what’s standing in our way.
