Who we are?

We are a group of five students from Leeds university, we are making the short film "Echo" so that we can enter it into the Leeds Film Festival. This is a project we are all working on for free, investing a lot of our time to write, plan, cast and film it. Our reasons are just that we love making movies and it is excellent practice and experience for all involved. We want you to be involved and excited about it too!

About the short film "Echo"...

"Echo" is a short film about the breakdown of relationships, loss and reflection. These themes are explored through a collage of experiences which look at the lead up to and after effects of a desperate act.

The narrative is based around the breakdown of relationships, loss and reflection. These themes are explored through a collage of experiences, which look at the lead up to, and after effects of a suicide. Due to the sensitivity of the subject that we addressing, we have contacted certain charities and organisations in the hope that they will give us feedback on our script and we perhaps offer support to our campaign.

The film will be between 10 - 15 mins in length and focuses on the thought provoking/deeply disturbing subject of suicide, an act that goes against our natural instincts to survive.

Our intentions

We would like to produce an interesting, aesthetically pleasing and thought provoking film that allows people to reflect on mental illness in an accessible way. We aim to raise awareness about the importance of communicating our mental needs and weaknesses to others around us and the significnt effect that peoples reactions can have on someone that does suffer from a mental illness.

Funding

We aim to get $1000 from your kind support, the funds will be used to pay for fuel, food, consumables, crew's transport and venue hire during the production.

Other ways you can help

If you have an interest in the topic of depression and it has effected you or someone close to you and you would like to share your opinions with us or find out more about our project, please feel free to contact us: cs08cltc@leeds.ac.uk

We will be happy and grateful if you just spread the word for us, you can post the link: http://www.indiegogo.com/echofilm on Twitter or Facebook and make some buzz!
