Ed.Arts is a registered 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization. Our services are free.
Our mission is to free artist from
student debt by educating them before they get into it, and by freeing them
from it financially once they’ve proven themselves committed.
We want to:
- Show aspiring artists a realistic picture of their future financial obligations involving student loan debt, and give them access to a database containing information on the realities of student loan debt and alternatives to funding an arts education.
- Provide free information, seminars, webinars and access to financial experts for artists currently dealing with student loan debt obligations while pursuing a career in the arts.
- For select artists who have continued to pursue their craft for at least 7 years since leaving school, despite financial hardship, we will make contributions directly to their student debt. The application and vetting process weighs an applicant's financial history with their creative output. Those who are making a bigger impact under harder circumstances get our help first. We strive to one day be able to pay, in full, the remaining balance of the student debt weighing down these select exceptional indebted creatives.
Where Your Donations Go:
- Marketing our free services so that the people who need our help can find us
- Building our network of professionals willing to donate their time to help counsel and mentor “indebted creatives” to manage their debt.
- Researching and vetting the ever changing and growing landscape of alternatives to student loans for funding an arts education and amassing them as a comprehensive resource for aspiring artists, their parents and teacher /advisors . SO MUCH RESEARCH!
- Vetting applications from worthy artists for our Debt Relief Awards, and making as many as we can, for as much as we can, as soon as we can, as we continue to raise donations.
- Keeping our lights on. (Insurance, operating costs, filing fees, office tools, etc.)
- Staff to help with development, grant writing, and managing our programs.
Our fundraising never stops. Our free programs must continue to be funded after this Indiegogo campaign ends. You can unite with us in our goals by becoming a recurring member donor at our website. www.educatedartists.org/donate
The Impact We Can Make
- We know student debt is a national issue. We focus on artists, because while many collegiate majors can pay off their student debt with the wages earned from a career in their area of study - art rarely works that way. After graduating, most artists are often deterred from pursuing their chosen career path because of the debt they incurred training for it.
- We believe the successful pursuit of our mission is going to improve the lives of artists, insure the ongoing development of new works created from our nation's artists in all genres, and thereby contribute to a better, more informed, more curious and compassionate society, here and abroad.
- With Ed.Arts, you are not just funding future arts projects, you are saving artists.
