Why was EggMatix created?
Tired of peeling eggs? So are we! Since the beginning of time, humans have peeled eggs by hand. In the 19th century some really innovative people invented the egg peeler cup. Simply fill a cup with water and place in the egg and shake. Wah la! The egg shell is only half removed and still covered in water that you have to both drain and remove. What a concept! Jokes aside, EggMatiX was created with the understanding that many people want a simple, yet attractive solution to deshell an egg that is both hygienic and time saving. We have invented a faster and cleaner way to deshell an egg without the consumer ever having to crack the shell. There is even an egg shell depository built right into the machine, so after multiple uses, simply hold over the garbage can and release the accumulated egg shells. It is that easy! All great products solve a problem, so when people ask us why we created EggMatiX, it’s a real no brainer. Hate peeling eggs by hand? Check! Hate disposing of egg shells? Check! Wish there was a faster and better way? Check! Thus, EggMatiX was born!

Design, Benefits, and Functionality
The prototype design that is shown in the video is not the final consumer product. What is showcased in the video is what the final product has the potential of accomplishing in its new design. We plan to use the funds from this campaign to hire a professional engineer to redesign the internal motor to keep the peeling at a consistent level, as well as redesigning the chassis for a sleeker, more aesthetic appearance. As a secondary design, a commercial housing for restaurants and other businesses that peel a multitude of boiled eggs on a daily basis will be considered. If investors have doubts, we have been awarded the certification of incubation by Arrow for our progress at this point in product development. There are not a lot of Indiegogo campaigns that can make that claim.

What this means to you:
Never hand peel a boiled egg again!

What's left to do:
Here is what is left to do and where your contributions will be going to help to make EggMatiX a reality. Final prototype testing, engineering refinement, tooling and mold creation, design refinement, production, certification and packaging. Final Engineering + Testing Complete Circuits: The product requires a custom-manufactured board development that includes IC switches and customized software for voltage detection. A built in algorithm in the IC will allow for the motor to spin the gears at the proper speed allowing for a smooth egg shell peel every time. This must be completed to ensure all circuits in EggMatiX pass FCC, CE, and UL.

Production Plan:
Since we have 10 years of experience building products in China, it has been easy to find an assembling factory to manufacturer EggMatiX. However, this appliance will require numerous components, circuit board, IC components, rollers, motor, gears, tooled plastic parts, tooled metal parts, custom cut materials, and the UL approved power adapter. These items need to be purchased at certain minimums for both production preparation and initial runs to deliver the final product. Once funded through Indiegogo, we will immediately purchase all components necessary and start building the units for our backers. This is of course after the final design and engineering requirements have been met. We have engineering approvals to move to the next production phase. Once products are completed, we will ship them from China to the USA where our logistics partners will mail them out to each backer. Photos of our partners’ assembling factories are below:

Tooling:
EggMatiX requires steel molds to be made for the manufacture of housing/structural components. This is specifically for the rollers, board, gear, and motor. These are the parts that house the internal "guts" and give the product a polished look and feel. EggMatiX also requires molds to be created for all outer and internal structures on this case.
Certification:
In order to ship and sell consumer appliances, especially items that plug into outlets, we must prepare final units for testing for various certification reports on all differing criteria. We will consider two major jurisdictions for the first production run in the United States (UL + FCC).

Packaging:
We must purchase a minimum amount of material, create and print instruction manuals and ship to our final assembling location for final steps in the completion of our EggMatiX project.
Shipping:
It is extremely important to deliver final products to backers quickly after production. Members of our team versed in this area have preemptively taken into account the seasonality of shipping in the winter. The costs/duties have been allocated to ensure on-time delivery without additional burden to customers. Estimated shipping date for product will be late 2018.
