My Story
For many years, I have played the waiting game. For example, I have spent countless hours in the studio writing music for other artist and waiting for them to buy it. I have also waited for some big wig to discover me at a talent show or while I'm shopping at the mall humming a tune. There was also a time, in which I waited on a hot shot producer to come along and make me a tailor made track and I even spent my precious time dreaming of becoming the next American Idol. Well, those things never happened.
As a result of waiting, I have compromised the kind of music I really wanted to share. However, within that time I have made some very exciting discoveries about myself. It has taken me 10 + years to wake up and realize that I don't have to wait on my dreams (i.e. a record deal or for someone to discover me). I am perfectly capable of producing my own album. I also discovered how fun and empowering it is creating musical compositions! Making a song from the music, lyrics, and vocals, allows me to express myself completely leaving no room for artistic compromise. So, I have decided to take control of my destiny and put together a musical album that I could be proud of.
Over the years of being in and out of professional recording studios, I have learned all the aspects of creating musical tracks, producing vocal arrangements, and recording.
The theme of this album captures some of the personal experiences that I endured putting this project together. It correlates with the emotional pangs of life and self discovery but presented with dance driven beats. In other words it is a dance album with a conscience because I wanted to do something fun that would make people want to move!
For a year now, I have been working diligently towards the completion of this album and I am almost done. Once the songs are complete, I will need your help financially to get my music out into the world.
The Impact
Ideally, the success of this campaign will give others a chance to enjoy the songs that have been locked up in my head for so long. I also hope that it inspires others to manifest their desires no matter how unattainable they may seem.
As a producer who just so happens to be a female, my unique situation may shed some light on the industry stereo types. For example, the music industry is a male driven business, especially in the realm of music production. It is very rare that you see or even hear of women putting together musical compositions in the industry. So it would be great if the success of this project encourages other women who want to make musical tracks or as they say " make beats," to get out there and do it!
In the event that I do not reach my financial goal, I will relaunch this campaign or pick up another part time job to make it happen. It may take a lot longer to get the album released but I'll do what I gotta do.
What We Need & What You Get
In order to successfully release this album I will need $15,000. This will cover the mixing and mastering of songs, pressing of CD's, marketing, distribution, pictures, professional video, website, the album release party, and publicist fees. Depending on the contribution amount, you will receive some great perks such as a free digital down load of the album, a signed CD of the album with your name mentioned in the credits, a t-shirt with the artists logo, a video cameo, and a chance to see me perform live at the album release party for free.
