Who We Are
Elephant Room Productions (ERP) brings the audience into a room to interact with a metaphorical elephant, a topic the vast majority of the world refuses to talk about, to engage and personalize the issue and ultimately become a part of a discourse that will continue well beyond our walls.
Opening the season with our Fall 2015 workshop series, we will be developing two new plays: Captive, by Lauren M. Shover, a play that confronts the psychology of addiction, and Whispers, by Phil Czekner, a play that reveals the horror of schizophrenia and mental illness. In the Spring of 2016 we will be workshopping Beautiful American Soldier by Dano Madden. We will conclude the workshop with a staged reading of the play, which has never before been seen in its entirety. In doing so, we seek to create a dialogue about PTSD and how it affects our veterans when they return home, as well as those who have been affected abroad. We close the season with the start of an ongoing project, entitled Suicide Stories. We are currently seeking stories to incorporate into a devised multimedia piece about the personal and interpersonal effects of suicide.
Elephant Room Productions is a sponsored project of Fractured Atlas, a non-profit arts service organization. Contributions for the charitable purposes of Elephant Room Productions must be made payable to “Fractured Atlas” only. The value of perks range from $1-58. Any contribution above that amount is tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.

What We Need & What You Get
Breakdown those Finances!
We are seeking to raise $10,000 in order to accomplish our 2015/2016 season. A financial breakdown of our projected costs are as follows:
- Location: $5,000. We do everything in our power to make sure that we have top-notch locations to perform our work.
- Production: $2,000. It isn't much but we think that this is plenty for our productions. We pride ourselves on finding cost effective ways to build and create our shows.
- Travel: $1,000. It can get expensive traveling between Philadelphia and New York. We also do our best to cover the costs of artists that we are bringing to us from across the country.
- Perks: $1,000. We care about those who care about us! Giving back to you with some killer perks is one of the ways that we want to show it.
- Marketing: $500. Our marketing is small but effective. This will go a long way for us.
- Miscellaneous: $500. Random things like business cards, hops and yeast for our brewer, and dues.
PERKS!!!
Bertolt Brecht was once quoted stating, "A theatre without beer is just a museum." We at ERP took that to heart and found our very own brewer that creates a featured beer for each production that we do. We wanted to expand this idea so you will see many of our perks revolve around beer because who doesn't love beer?! Some of the perks are as follows
- Beer vouchers
- Koozies
- Coasters
- Beer Glasses
- An invitation to attend an open rehearsal
- T-Shirts

But wait, what happens if you don't make your goal?
We know that it is quite possible that we will not reach our entire goal. It's always good to have a back-up plan. We will use whatever we receive in order to fund our season. There will be some cuts. Location and travel will take most of those cuts. However, we like to believe that we won't need to use that backup plan with the help of generous donors like you!
The Impact
Elephant Room Productions wants to tell your story. We believe that everyone has a voice that should be heard and we want you to tell us! During our first year as a company we had two public readings of the new play
Foothills Park by Dano Madden. It began a conversation about racism in America against people from the Middle East, a topic that is still continuing to get lively discussions. By funding us we can continue this conversation and begin other ones. However, we need your help in order to accomplish this goal!
Risks & Challenges
We know there will be many challenges facing us within the next year. Elephant Room Productions believes that we need to go towards what is difficult in order to accomplish our goals. We want to have the tough discussions, we want to hear the heartbreak, we want to be the beginning of change.
