Why tell this story?
At one time or another most, if not all of us, have chosen to stick with a relationship that no longer makes us happy, out of fear or comfort. While we've seen this narrative told before, we've seldom seen it told from the woman's perspective. Our lead, Charlie, is flawed and she doesn't always make the right choice, but she's figuring things out as she goes.
The need to tell this story came about after a breakup. Our writer, Ren, realized that women in media are rarely portrayed as being fully-fledged humans, with flaws, hang-ups, and fears. She confronts this issue through exposing Charlie's inaction through indecision. It is a story that, while told from a female perspective, we believe is one to which everyone can relate: finding one's voice and confronting one's fears, despite the consequences to either self or others.
The Team:
Since this project deals with a universal problem told from a female perspective, we really wanted to create an atmosphere of female-empowerment and that all starts with the team behind the scenes.
Ren Harris (Writer/Executive Producer)
Ren Harris discovered her passion for acting and the arts at a young age, having been exposed to dance and theater early on while living in Santiago, Chile. Her most recent credits include a series regular on Feeln's The 11th and a lead role in a feature film directed by Austin Reading. While Ren has worked with writing partners in the past, this is her first solo project.

Why we need your help:
We've been fortunate to assemble a fantastic team to bring "Elusive" to fruition. There are substantial costs involved in order to see this project come to life. We want to make sure that everyone on set is taken care of and treated with the respect that they, as artists, deserve. As such, all of our funding will go towards taking care of our cast and crew, securing locations, editing, props, costumes, sound mixing, sound editing, graphics, food (we all know craft services is the most important aspect of a film set) and, when our film is ready, festival submissions. Every penny we raise will be spent in creating a beautiful film that everyone can be proud to have been a part of.
